It is the last Wednesday of the month, which means it is time for Sony to announce what itslineup of free games for Playstation Plus subscribers will be for next month. While the titles may not be as big for April as they were for March's lineup, which included Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank, there are still a couple of noteworthy games.

As usual, the announcement was made by Sony via the Playstation Blog. The main headlining titles for PlayStation Plus April are Mad Max and Trackmania Turbo, both for PS4. The PS3 will be getting In Space We Brawl and Toy Home. Lastly, the two Vita titles are 99 Vidas and Q*Bert Rebooted (which is cross buy compatible for both PS3 and PS4, as well).

Mad Max was released back in September of 2015 and was developed by Avalanche Studios, which was also responsible for the Just Cause games. It follows a similar formula of having a large, sprawling open world to explore, only taking place in a post-apocalyptic desert as opposed to the more vibrant locales in the Just Cause series. Mad Max also featured a combat system that many compared to the Batman: Arkham games. Fans of those style of games or of the Mad Max movies may be interested in trying this out. It is also worth pointing out that the game's plot is not based off any of the movies, instead having its own story. Those interested can check out our review here.

Trackmania PS Plus

Trackmania Turbo is, as the name would suggest, a racing game. It's an arcade racer rather than simulation titles like Gran Turismo. It was developed by Nadeo and published by Ubisoft, who released it in 2016. The title sees players trying to get the best time on the game's 200 tracks. If players get bored of those tracks, there is an option to create your own and share them with the community.

In Space We Brawl is a sci-fi twin stick shooter, that features up to 4 person local multiplayer, so fans can shoot through alien baddies with friends on the couch. Toy Home is a racing title, which sees players control toy cars as they race around different racetracks, which are all different rooms of a house. 99 Vidas is an old school beat'em up reminiscent of classic games like Double Dragon. Finally, Q*Bert Rebooted is, as it sounds, an updated reboot of the classic arcade game.

PS3 and Vita owners will want to take advantage of the free PlayStation Plus games for those respective consoles and get them added to their library. This is imperative, as last month Sony announced it would be ending support for free games on those systems starting in 2019.
