Sony's PlayStation Now subscription service may not get quite as much attention as PlayStation Plus, but it still offers significant value for PS4 and PS5 gamers. Every month, Sony adds new games to PlayStation Now and rarely removes games from the service, giving subscribers access to hundreds of games across multiple generations. January 2022 is no exception, with Sony adding six new games to PlayStation Now on January 4 to kick off the new year.

The new PlayStation Now games for January 2022 are headlined by Mortal Kombat 11, the critically-acclaimed fighting game from NetherRealm Studios. Mortal Kombat 11 earned rave reviews at the time of its release and has gotten even better since thanks to content updates and character DLC. PlayStation Now subscribers will only have access to the Mortal Kombat 11 base game, but that still offers a significant amount of content that should keep fighting game fans busy for quite some time.

Another big game coming to PlayStation Now on January 4, 2022 is Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age. The addition of Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age to PlayStation Now is significant as it marks the end of Sony adding Final Fantasy games to PlayStation Now. This effort to bring Final Fantasy to PlayStation Now started months ago with the original version of Final Fantasy 7, which was then followed by Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9, and Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster.

  • Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age
  • Fury Unleashed
  • Kerbal Space Program
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Super Time Force Ultra
  • Unturned

The other new PlayStation Now games for January 2022 are smaller titles but should still be great additions to the lineup. Starting January 4, PlayStation Now subscribers can check out Fury Unleashed, Kerbal Space Program, Super Time Force Ultra, and Unturned. None of the new PlayStation Now games for January 2022 have a removal date announced, which means that users can expect them to stay on the service for a significant amount of time.

There are rumblings that PlayStation Now may be getting a revamp down the line that will combine it with PlayStation Plus as a way of better competing with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service. Nothing official on that front has been confirmed at the time of this writing so fans should take that information with a grain of salt, but it will definitely be interesting to see if Sony makes any big changes to PlayStation Now in 2022 to make it even more enticing to PS4 and PS5 gamers.
