Ever since Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the discontinuation of PlayStation Now on PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and Bravia TV models, the company has decided to increase its focus on the PS4 and PC versions of the streaming service. Now, the company has decided to bring several PS2-era games to the service during the month of July 2018, with the headliner of the list arguably being the developer Level-5's action role-playing game Dark Cloud.

While Dark Cloud has been obtainable on PS4 for quite some time, with Sony occasionally offering sizable discounts for PlayStation Plus subscribers, this is definitely another move on behalf of the company to get people using PlayStation Now. After all, many consider the title to be one of, if not the best RPGs to come out on PS2, due to its ability to successfully blend a variety of different types of gameplay together.

Even though Dark Cloud is generally considered to be a fan-favorite, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, which is why Sony has populated its list of fresh PlayStation Now games for July 2018 with a handful of other titles. Joining Dark Cloud will be BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Fantavision (PS2), Farming Simulator 17, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition (PS2), MXGP 2 – The Official Motocross Videogame, Rogue Galaxy (PS2), Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet, Umbrella Corps, and Wild Guns. Plus there will be PS3 to PS4 upgrades for Rainbow Moon and Strider.

Taking all of this into consideration, with PlayStation Now expanding its wares with Dark Cloud and the other aforementioned games in July 2018, it will be interesting to see if the number of users of the service gets a big boost. Along with the fresh titles, it's definitely not the worst time to grab a PlayStation Now subscription thanks to some summer promotions going on where players can pick up a discounted monthly subscription to for $10. Of course, should one wish to go all-in on the streaming service, they can do so for $100.
