Without a doubt, October 2018 is chock full of Halloween-themed events, with a wide range of different titles such as Destiny 2, Fortnite, Overwatch, and more adding content to celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year. Not to be left out of the fun, Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided to give PlayStation fans some fantastic deals on various horror games in the tech firm's Sale of the Dead, which is officially live now.

Sony's PlayStation Sale of the Dead has loads of different games for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita players to save on, with such heavy hitters as BioShock: The Collection, Resident Evil 7, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Complete Edition getting some deep discounts. Although the price cuts are already quite substantial for most of the titles in the sale, it's also worth noting that PlayStation Plus subscribers receive extra discounts. The PlayStation Sale of the Dead runs through November 2, 2018 at 8:00 AM PT, so those interested in the deals would do well to check out the full list right here.

While Sony's PlayStation Sale of the Dead contains a bevy of different horror and terror-themed titles, those who are less inclined to enjoy potentially frightening and scare-heavy games will find a few releases that mildly border on the genre. For instance, Capcom's fighting game Street Fighter 5 and IO Interactive's Hitman – Game of the Year Edition are included in the sale for some inexplicable reason.

All things considered, with a slew of solid games from which to choose in the Sale of the Dead, it's safe to presume that myriad horror buffs will have plenty of titles to keep them busy. That said, though, for those who are looking for some thrills for the holiday and don't find any in the aforementioned PlayStation sale, they would do well to check out our list of the scariest games to play on Halloween to find out of their library's in dire need of an update.
