The holiday season is here, and Christmas is just a few days away. All around the world, people are gathering to celebrate with friends and family, though it's also a great time to sit back and unwind with some video games. Luckily, there's a way to do both, as PlayStation has shared another round of gaming-themed holiday cards for its fans to print out and share with the most important people in their lives.

Each year, PlayStation releases special greeting cards that highlight some of the gaming's most popular recent releases. With some stellar games debuting in 2021, there are plenty of options for PlayStation to choose from, though some older games have also found their ways into greeting card form. PlayStation originally shared some of the cards about a week ago, but has been periodically highlighting more of them over on Twitter, including a recent set.

In a post today, PlayStation sent out greeting cards from Astro Bot, Mortal Kombat, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Destiny 2. While those games all range in popularity and impact, it's hard to argue against any of them being big deals to their respective fanbases. Plus, the greeting cards are quite simply fun, which is what the games industry is all about at the end of the day.

The PlayStation Blog has a long list of greetings cards that have previously been highlighted, including the likes of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Gran Turismo, and more. The cards are a nice touch for the holiday season, especially this close to the end of the year. While the holidays are joyous for many, they can be depressing for others, so any pick-me-up is a big perk.

Unfortunately, strained supply lines and issues with scalping mean that PlayStation 5's won't be all that common on Christmas morning, so it isn't necessarily the perfect PlayStation holiday. However, even the PS4 is still getting excellent support from developers, so gamers should still be able to find some nice surprises waiting for them throughout the holiday season.

For those looking to really enjoy themselves, the PlayStation Store is running a major sale right now, discounting some of the biggest games of the year. For those that missed out on some of 2021's best games, it's a time to pick up a few games to play over the holidays and beyond. There's a bit of a new release lull for the next few weeks, but it might also be wise to save up for February 2022's big game release calendar.
