While it would've been ridiculous to suggest that first-party PlayStation exclusives could ever make it to PC in any way, shape, or form just a few years back, that proposition has turned out to be a reality. Sony has now taken a more inclusive approach than ever before, though the company still seems rather selective as to which of its releases make it to PC and which do not.

This process may be significantly faster and more aggressive in the future, though, as PlayStation is now hiring a new Senior Director, one that would deal specifically with "PC planning and strategy," as the company's new job listing puts it. The listing implies a very serious expansion in the PC gaming space - potentially more so than it historically has been - though it doesn't reveal much concrete information on its own.

Since Sony hired developers to help port PlayStation exclusives to PC, the notion of hiring a specialized PC Senior Director doesn't necessarily seem too surprising. As per the job listing, the applicant will, if hired, need to come up with a global strategy for the expansion of PlayStation on PC via established partners such as Epic and Valve, as well as continuously be flexible and expect "evolving roles and responsibilities." Overall, the listing implies a very comprehensive long-term plan for the platform, leaving little room for doubt about whether Sony's PC experiment is paying off.

With all the PC ports of PlayStation exclusives that Sony has pushed out so far, it's hardly surprising to see the company is finally looking at PC as a serious gaming platform. In fact, with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection already listed on Steam for release over the course of 2022, PlayStation is likely to keep releasing more of its first-party exclusives on PC in the future, too, and the hiring of a new PC-oriented Senior Director to manage these efforts underlines this fact even further still.

Some information points to the possible release of God of War: Ragnarok on PC, though that's highly unlikely to happen anytime soon. Instead, it seems far more likely that Sony would focus on one-off releases and older entries in established franchises, as shown with Days Gone and God of War, in particular. Games such as Ghost of Tsushima could make an appearance as well, or perhaps even Bloodborne.

Though it's a small piece of news in comparison to the featured job listing, Sony also recently pushed out an applet allowing PC users to update DualSense controllers without the need for a PlayStation 5 console. On its own, this would be mostly unremarkable. Taking a look at the wider picture, however, it becomes obvious that Sony is taking its PC operations very seriously as of late.
