Sony is offering PlayStation 4 owners some pretty great deals in what it is labeling the Golden Week Sale on the PlayStation Store. With a focus on "Japan-inspired titles," the sale puts a spotlight on recent hits and older releases alike. Furthermore, the sale is offering discounts of up to 65% off for PS4 users and discounts of up to 75% off for PlayStation Plus members, so now is the time to check out some fantastic games.
Resident Evil 2's standard edition, for example, is marked down 25% for PS4 owners, reducing it to $44.99, while it has been marked down 33% for PS Plus members, coming to a total of $40.19. Meanwhile, its Deluxe Edition is down from $69.99 to $55.99 and $48.99 for nonmembers and PS Plus members, respectively. The game is, thus far, one of the most significant of 2019, so horror game junkies would be well-advised to take advantage of this deal while it's available.
Kingdom Hearts III has been given a discount as well. Quite a steal at $41.99, down from $59.99, and $40.19 for PS Plus members, this game comes to from experienced RPG developer Square Enix. Well-received all-around, we gave the game a 4 out of 5. In our review, we said that the game "offers an exciting and over-the-top adventure that any light-hearted gamer could enjoy." Featuring a cast of iconic Disney characters and some solid RPG mechanics, Kingdom Hearts III, after such a long wait, does not disappoint.
Last year's Monster Hunter World has been given a considerable discount. Usually priced at $49.99, the game is currently priced at $24.99, as well as $19.99 for PS Plus members. Monster Hunter World is the latest game in the series, which has grown in popularity in recent years. Along with being one of our top games of 2018, we gave the game an impressive 5 out of 5. With such high praise, it's tough to argue against the game's new, if limited, $20 price point.
While the rest of the items can be viewed on the PlayStation Store's Golden Week Sale section, some other notable discounted titles include Valkyria Chronicles 4, marked down to $41.99, and $29.99 for PS Plus members, as opposed to its usual $59.99. Additionally, Soulcalibur 6 is discounted at $42 for unsubscribed PS4 owners $36 for subscribers, as well as Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, whose $39.99 price point has decreased to $27.99, though PS Plus members can purchase the game for $23.99.
Any and all interested in these games, and others, should peruse the sale. There are some great deals in there, so it's quite likely players may find something to walk away with. The sale will end May 7 at 8:00AM PT.
