Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Experience 2016 event kicks off today at 10 AM PT, and fans can tune in to watch the event live right here.

It seems like a distant memory when Sony first announced the date and setting for PlayStation Experience 2016, but the day has finally arrived on which the Japanese company will celebrate all things PlayStation with plenty of panels, playable games, and a series of reveals. The event officially begins today, December 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM PT in Anaheim, California with PSX 2016's keynote address.

As previously mentioned, PlayStation Experience 2016 is expected to be packed with information about what Sony has in store for its fans for the remainder of this year, 2017, and beyond. After the keynote address, an unannounced panel begins at 12:00 PM PT, followed by a Death Stranding conference with Hideo Kojima and guests at 1:00 PM PT, and one final address at 2:00 PM PT. As far as the untitled panels for PlayStation Experience 2016 are concerned, fans should expect lots of announcements for previously announced games such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, and God of War 4, in addition to the possibility of surprises in the way of brand new game reveals. After all, events such as PSX thrive on unexpected displays, and there have already been rumors that the fighting game crossover Marvel vs. Capcom 4 could be officially announced for release in 2017 due to the Capcom Cup 2016 tournament coinciding with the exhibition.

Beyond video games themselves, PlayStation Experience 2016 will surely be a platform for Sony's latest hardware as well. For instance, the company just recently put out the PlayStation 4 Pro – that is, the upgraded version of the PS4 – which ought to be given a fair amount of attention during the event. Not to mention, it's possible that Sony could use PSX 2016 as a means to announce an extension of PlayStation VR's library of launch titles with fresh releases on the way.

Of course, while there's a plethora of potential information to be excited about, there will also be some letdowns in the way of highly-coveted titles not being shown at PlayStation Experience 2016. For instance, it was recently revealed that Insomniac's Spider-Man game for PS4 won't be at PSX 2016.

Obviously, everything that has already been officially confirmed for the PlayStation Experience 2016 should be more than enough to satisfy Sony's legions of fans, but if the surprises from 2015's event is any indication of what's to come for this year, there could be lots of unforeseen bombshells dropped. With that possibly being the case, PSX 2015 started off with footage from Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, so perhaps Sony will continue the trend and unveil details for the game's single-player DLC.
