Fans have been showing their love of gaming through a wide variety of creative means for almost as long as games have been in existence. However, there are also fans out there who go one step beyond that, and instead choose a more permanent method of showing their adoration for not just games but consoles such as the Sony PlayStation as well.

Reddit user seabass_49 now has an inked tribute to Sony’s PlayStation, with a highly detailed and colorful new tattoo of a DualShock controller. Bursting at the seams with a brilliant emerald light, the controller itself is the standard jet black with the button shapes retaining their well-known color scheme, and above the controller itself is the iconic PlayStation startup logo.

A more permanent approach, the tattoo stands its ground among fan glorification of the games they love and enjoy, a passion that can be found in many different forms, including a watercolor painting of a certain Daedric Prince from Skyrim. With the tattoo freshly on display, seabass_49 states that they discovered the wish list of the artist and snapped up the PlayStation controller option, being a fan of both the artist and the PS2/PS3 DualShock design. The stipulations of the artist were that the controller be in a state of breaking down, with a glow emanating from inside, though the choice of color has created a heated mixture of reactions.

The chosen shade of green has already been likened to one of the competitors of the PlayStation, namely the Xbox, another console that has seen its fair share of appreciation, including one fan who gave their Xbox Series X a pink makeover. However, seabass_49 stated they were already aware of how the color choice may come across and that the reasons behind the decision had nothing to do with the competing console. Instead, they cited their love of the nostalgic old design as the basis of the color palette used.

Tattoos can be an excellent art of self-expression when it comes to the gaming community. With the artistry, passion, and dedication often involved in tattoos, there’s no end to the possibilities that exist when it comes to getting an inked tribute of a favorite game or console.
