PlayStation Classic Full Game List Revealed

PlayStation Classic full list of games

Back in September, Sony surprised fans by announcing the PlayStation Classic, a miniature version of its iconic games console. With 20 pre-loaded titles, the console allows longstanding PlayStation fans to enjoy their favorite games while introducing a handful of classics to those who missed out the first time around.

Sony had kept fans waiting for the full list of PlayStation Classic games and now, the platform holder has come through. With a new trailer, Sony has revealed all 20 games that will come pre-loaded on the PlayStation Classic when it launches in December.

The full list of PlayStation Classic games is as follows:

  • Battle Arena Toshinden
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Destruction Derby
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Grand Theft Auto
  • Intelligent Qube
  • Jumping Flash!
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Mr. Driller
  • Rayman
  • Resident Evil Director's Cut
  • Revelations: Persona
  • R4 Ridge Racer Type 4
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tekken 3
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
  • Twisted Metal
  • Wild Arms

The 20-game list is full of classics and fans seem especially happy to see Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto on the list. But there are also some glaring omissions. In particular, some are upset that the PlayStation Classic won't feature Crash Bandicoot. While the Crash games have been remastered with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, fans would love to play the first game in its original glory.

Other games from fan wishlists that haven't been included are Gran Turismo 2, Dino Crisis, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Resident Evil. Many had hoped that Crash Team Racing, a game that wasn't featured in the N. Sane Trilogy, would be included too.

The games list isn't the only reason why some have criticized the PlayStation Classic. Shortly after the miniature console was announced, some took issue with the fact that the console will not come packaged with an AC adapter. Some fans were also disappointed that the console would include the PlayStation controllers without the analog sticks.

Despite the concerns, the PlayStation Classic is still expected to sell well. The sales of Nintendo's mini retro consoles show that there is a real interest in this sort of thing. The PlayStation Classic will benefit from that wave of nostalgia but there's no telling how much more of a success it could be if that games list looked a little different.

The PlayStation Classic releases on December 3, 2018.
