It looks like PlayStation 5 supply issues may be coming to an end as gamers report seeing more consoles at various Walmart stores. The PlayStation 5 came out in November 2020, but the console has been suffering from supply problems ever since its release. Sony has not been able to keep up with the PS5’s demand, resulting in some users choosing to buy a PS5 from a scalper for more than its MRP.

However, one fan recently reported seeing a PS5 at a Walmart and claimed to have seen the console in a store for the first time since its release. It looks like Sony is selling a PS5 bundle with Horizon Forbidden West, one of the highest-rated new releases of 2022. Now, more players are spotting PS5s in Walmart stores as supply looks to have improved in the past few weeks.

PlayStation fans have made a few posts on Reddit with images of PS5 stock at Walmart stores. A user named Worth_Tip_8126 shared a picture showing a few disk-based PS5 consoles in an outlet. These appear to be standard PS5 editions and are not bundled with any game. A similar post was made by UrbanTinkerer, who shared an image showing a surprising seven PS5s available at a Walmart in Elk City. On the other hand, one player mentioned there is no shortage of PS5s in Costa Rica, but they cost $1,000, which is twice as much as the MRP.

A fan named Sandas2017 also posted an image from a store having some units of the Horizon Forbidden West PS5 bundle. Sandas2017 claimed that such sightings are becoming more regular after two years of the console’s release, although it doesn’t appear to be the norm everywhere. Many users in the comments section mention that PS5s are still extremely hard to find in stores, with one stating that they will wait for an upgraded PS5 Pro instead of buying the standard model.

These sightings seem to match with a recent report which suggested that PS5 shipments increased dramatically in September 2022 in the US. According to a senior analyst at MST Financial, Sony shipped 400% more PS5s last month when compared to September 2021.

A reliable insider also stated that Sony is aiming to ship 30 million PS5 consoles by March 2024. All of these signs point to Sony finally being able to improve PS5 supply after struggling to keep up with demand since its release.
