Sony's upcoming PS5 console has a number of new features that the company hopes will draw new players to the Next-Gen system, with the new DualSense controllers standing out as one of the most notable inclusions. As the first few DualSense controllers appear at retail locations around the world, one feature from past systems that hasn't yet been addressed by Sony is the ability to customize the new system and controllers.

Some recent images out of the United States Federal Communications Commission have surfaced, showing what one of the customization options may be when the PS5 finally releases. After appearing in FCC filings for Sony's newest product, images of a black controller have begun going viral on Twitter and other social media outlets.

The new images are of an incredibly in-depth technical teardown of a DualSense controller, not only showing every angle of the device, but also breaking it down into its interior parts. Players are not only given a new view of a black DualSense - something that previously only existed in fan-made mockups - but they are also given a closer look at the controller altogether. There's still no indication of whether or not this black controller hints at a black system in the future, to match the last two generations of the console.

It doesn't appear that the FCC's new images are detailed enough to give modders or bootleggers a head-start on how to replicate knock-off merchandise, which will likely begin when the controllers start arriving in players' homes. However, it will likely take a huge amount of effort in order to match the DualSense's haptic feedback and preliminary features that sets the PS5 apart from other systems, both current generation and Next-Gen. So, for most fans, this will be little more than an interesting look at the DualSense and an unofficial confirmation that these new controllers will be available in new colors.

Exactly what this means for the customizability of the PS5 is still up in the air, as it still appears that the system itself will only be available in the original white color. Likewise, the existence of black DualSense controllers doesn't confirm that other colors will be available at launch, although if the modern trend of limited run controllers is anything to go by, players may expect them in the future. Regardless, Sony seems to be focused mostly on getting the hardware developed and introducing players to new features and recent changes coming with DualSense before branching out into further customization.

The PS5 releases on November 12th.
