Earning a platinum trophy is certainly no small achievement, and it is something that many PlayStation 4 owners will do only a handful of times. However, for "trophy hunters," those individuals that are highly-focused on obtaining these special rewards, platinums are a dime a dozen, and one particularly dedicated fan has recently demonstrated their platinum trophy-earning prowess with the completion of a truly impressive challenge.

Specifically, on December 15, YouTuber PS4Trophies completed a live stream in which they earned 50 PlayStation 4 platinum trophies in just over 20 hours. Unfortunately, the VOD of this record-setting stream cannot currently be viewed, and PS4Trophies now indicates that it "might be lost," but further details on the challenge are available for players that wish to learn a bit more.

To start, PS4Trophies established several rules for the challenge. These rules stated that all platinumed games must be PS4 titles, meaning that no PS Vita games would be allowed, and "stacking games" was permitted. This meant that PS4Trophies could platinum the same game multiple times if regional variations of the title featured unique trophy lists, and as a result fans will see that several games appear multiple times in the list of titles platinumed during the challenge.

With respect to that list, it can be found below, and it is comprised of myriad of short and simple games. Certainly, such a challenge would not be possible if PS4Trophies was attempting to earn platinums in the PS4's longest games, and it thus not surprising to see that the trophy hunter avoided such titles.

Of the easy PS4 games platinumed during the challenge, PS4Trophies indicates that Daggerhood, Metagal, and Attack of the Toy Tanks were among their favorites. Additionally, the content creator did offer their insight into the accomplishment upon its completion, stating that they thought it would be "much easier than it was," but indicating that community support allowed them to persevere.

"The games weren't a challenge, PS4Trophies further stated, "but the difficulty was keeping the mental focus to speedrun through the 50 games." Indeed, remaining alert while continually switching between varying control schemes and genres is a feat, and hopefully a VOD of the challenge will surface soon and give PlayStation 4 fans a chance to witness the accomplishment for themselves.
