Small nuances like being able to enter buildings make video game cities feel lifelike. It's the tiny aspects of video games that give them flair. The following cities are quintessential examples of video game design. These are the ten most epic cities in PS4 games.

10 Meridian (Horizon Zero Dawn)

It's hard to overlook Horizon Zero Dawn's scenic, futuristic open-world setting. Humanity has been pushed to the brink of annihilation by advanced A.I. robots, bringing people to their primitive state.

Horizon Zero Dawn's sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, should look to cities like Meridian for inspiration. The city's design contains vibrant hues of orange and red, contrasting with its state of ruin. Also known as the "City of the Sun," years of battles have given the city its appearance.

9 Mykonos City (Assassin's Creed Odyssey)

We get the uncanny feeling like we are visiting a European coastal city when we see Mykonos City. The great thing about Assassin's Creed Odyssey is that the locations are based on real-life Greek places. This scenic setting is considered a top contender for the most beautiful spot in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Immersion is at a level seldom seen in too few video games. You could lose yourself endlessly while caught amid this game's beautiful open world.

8 Insomnia (Final Fantasy XV)

Also known as the "Crown City," Insomnia is the jewel of Final Fantasy XV. It contains the Citadel, a place where the royal family lives, and the Crystal of Lucis if found. The crystal emits a light that projects into the sky. This light powers the barrier that surrounds the city of Insomnia. Players get to experience this fictional city in the day and at night. Players who decided to quit before finishing Final Fantasy XV missed out on witnessing one of the most beautiful PS4 cities.

7 Yharnam (Bloodborne)

While Dark Souls is dark by nature, Bloodborne takes it a step further by incorporating horror elements. Yharnam is the setting for Bloodborne, and something sinister is lurking in this sprawling city. It was designed as a city with Gothic architecture.

Wherever you head, a plague influences the city's inhabitants. It may have been a normal city at one time, but the people have since become demented, twisted by the plague. This city couldn't have been a more perfect setting for Bloodborne.

6 Raccoon City (Resident Evil 2)

We only get a glimpse of Raccoon City outside of the police department, yet the city is influential for being an outbreak site of the t-Virus in 1998. The Resident Evil 2 remake showcased a remade and polished Raccoon City. The design of the city is picturesque. The city is like a quaint version of a small Midwestern county in the United States of America. Its isolation from the rest of the country sets the tone for Resident Evil 2.

5 Los Santos (Grand Theft Auto V)

Los Santos is part of the fictional State of San Andreas. The state is based on California, Nevada, and places around the region. Grand Theft Auto V accomplished the unthinkable by creating the biggest map in Grand Theft Auto history.
