As yet another year approaches its end, PlayStation is offering its users an opportunity to take a look back at the games they played and the time they spent on their consoles. This year, PlayStation’s Wrap-Up also gives players an insight into community stat achievements across the most popular games as well as a small reward for sticking to the consoles for the year. For PlayStation users, this is an interesting way to look back at the year that has passed and to look forward to what is in store for 2023.

2022’s PlayStation Wrap-Up includes four sections that give players details on their stats including a short breakdown of community-shared stats. These sections need to be explored before users are able to gain access to the fifth and final section of this year’s Wrap-Up where they can gain an access code to an avatar and can share their Wrap-Up summary card. Scrolling all the way to the bottom of the webpage also showcases the upcoming games of 2023 including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Forspoken.

The first section of the 2022 Wrap-Up is the total playtime where users not only get information on the total playtime across all games but also get a breakdown of time spent playing online games. This section also shows how much time was spent on each console, which includes the PS5, the PS4, and PSVR games. Finally, this section also includes community stats for Horizon Forbidden West with some incredible numbers such as 14 million Thunderjaws felled and 11 billion arrows that hit machines.

The second section includes a list of the top 5 games played by users throughout the year and also mentions the most-played genre. Each game displays not only the total hours spent playing but also gives a percentage for Total Annual Playtime, giving players a sense of how much time they sunk into certain games. This section features God of War: Ragnarok in the community stats section boasting 6 billion enemies killed and 599 million chests punched by players across the world.

Following this, PlayStation gives users information about the trophies they have unlocked throughout the year in the third section. This includes the total number of new trophies unlocked in 2022, a percentage showing the increase from 2021, and also the total number of lifetime trophies unlocked on the PS4 and PS5. This section’s community stats revolve around Gran Turismo 7 and includes numbers such as 13 billion miles driven and 369 million online races completed.

The final section required to unlock the rewards provides stats for PlayStation Plus games and depicts the number of games users had access to throughout 2022, a massive total of 833 games. It also shows the number of hours each user spent playing online multiplayer games, the top online game played by users, the top monthly games, the most popular games from the PlayStation Plus catalog, and the most played classic games from the catalog. The community stats give an insight into how popular Stray was, with 1 billion meows performed and 12 million things ruined by PlayStation users.

After visiting these four sections, users now have access to the rewards which include a summary card and a voucher for a new avatar. The Wrap-Up summary card shows the user’s most played game and features the main stats from each of the four sections on the page. Scrolling further down gives players access to a voucher code that can be redeemed to unlock an ACTION avatar for a PSN profile before finally giving players a glimpse into the releases coming in 2023.

PlayStation has had an amazing year in gaming with stellar releases such as Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War: Ragnarok, as well as surprise success stories such as Stray.
