Despite its flaws on the Xbox One, Bluehole Studio's battle royale title PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is performing quite well on the console. Following its release on the system, the last-man-standing shooter has managed to garner more than 1 million players on the platform in its first 48 hours alone, with many more gamers likely to jump on the bandwagon in the near future.

In order to celebrate this particular feat for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Microsoft has also decided to announce a special promotion where every Xbox One X purchase will come with a copy of the game. The deal is going to be available in select regions for a limited time, starting on December 17 and ending on December 31, so with the holidays right around the corner, PUBG's user base is sure to grow a mite larger thanks to Xbox One X sales.

Prior to this specific success for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, it was obvious that Microsoft had been putting a lot of stock in the prosperity of the title on its current generation console, especially since the company has been rumored to be looking into extending PUBG's exclusivity on the system well into the middle of 2018. Not to mention, the tech giant began selling DLC before the game's launch on Xbox One, priming PUBG for sales before it event went live.

Considering PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' prosperous launch for the Xbox One, Microsoft can only hope for even more to come in a short period. It's currently a timed-exclusive on the console, which gives it a head start on the competition, but with the founder of the game having already confirmed discussions of a PS4 version happening with Sony, a PlayStation 4 edition of the title could cut into the Xbox One iteration's profits in a major way.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now for PC and Xbox One.
