PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is one of the most popular games in the world right now, smashing Steam concurrent user records and selling millions of units in its early access period alone. Unfortunately for PlayStation gamers, though, the game is only available on PC and Xbox One. However, if PUBG Corp CEO Chang Han Kim has his way, the hit shooter will make its way to PlayStation 4 at some point in the future.

In an interview with Inven Global, Chang Han Kim explained his vision for the future of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Apparently that vision includes bringing the game to every video game platform.

"As it’s going to be an exclusive title on Xbox One for some time, we’d like to focus on completing the Xbox One PUBG for now. If we have the opportunity, the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform."

As Chang Han Kim points out, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is going to be console-exclusive to Xbox One for awhile. The exact length of Player Unknown's Battleground's console exclusivity is unknown, but considering the game's increasing popularity, one has to imagine that Microsoft will want to keep it off PlayStation 4 for as long as possible. In fact, there were already rumblings that Microsoft planned on extending PUBG's Xbox One exclusivity deal months before the game even launched for the console.

Unless Microsoft plans on constantly paying PUBG Corp to keep the game off competing consoles, it's a safe bet that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will make its way to PS4 at some point down the line. However, Chang Han Kim's comment also suggests that the game may come to other platforms as well, which may mean a Nintendo Switch port is also a possibility.

While the thought of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds coming to other platforms may be exciting, the game is going to remain console-exclusive to Xbox One for the foreseeable future. And since the Xbox One version has a long way to go until its on par with the PC release, fans shouldn't expect news on possible PS4 or Switch versions of the game any time soon.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now on PC and on Xbox One through the Game Preview program.
