For the PC players of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the popular battle royale game has introduced its latest limited-time event. Ghillie Crossing, as it has been titled, is for the "sneakiest of snakes" and focuses on stealth, crossbows, and melee weapons. Notably, however, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players who want to partake in the event only have from May 24, beginning at 7 PM PDT, to May 27 at 7 PM PDT.

Since the event focuses on the aforementioned combat styles, only crossbows and melee weapons will spawn, ghillie suits will appear alongside other world loot, and there will be no vehicles spawns. Moreover, as the end of the match approaches, the blue zone damage will increase, and the first safe zone will always be near the map's center. Speaking of the map, the event will feature 4-man squads on Erangel.

Other rules for the event include only 2x, 3x, and 4x scopes spawning, with all other items spawning at the normal rate, and the weather is locked on "sunny." Notably, red zones and care packages are disabled, but killer spectating is enabled. It's worth mentioning that these rules vary from event to event, but these are pretty basic and perhaps expected rules for PUBG's latest event.

This limited-time event follows others, such as the Tequila Sunrise event or War Mode. Since the introduction of limited-time events back in March, they have been popular within the community, adding a bit of flare to the battle royale game. It remains to be seen how popular this event will become, but it will be an interesting weekend nevertheless.

It will also be interesting to see what events manifest in the future and to see if these events give PUBG a leg up against its forthcoming competitor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode. PLAYERUNKNOWN himself even welcomed the competitor into the battle royale club, so it remains to be seen how the two games will interact going forward. Whatever the case, this weekend is about Ghillie Crossing, which may occupy battle royale lovers for a short time at least.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now for Android and iOS, PC, and through early access on Xbox One.
