PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds is once again reaching out to its players for the next new skin ideas, thanks to PUBG's 3rd Anniversary Skin Contest. Winners from three different categories of skin designs will see their creations become part of the game--and, of course, those winners will also score several rewards.

PUBG Corp. announced the details of the contest via the game's website, including design categories, how to submit designs to the contest, and the process by which winners will be picked. For the contest, entrants will create a design for one of three PUBG objects with customizable skins: a hoodie, a parachute, or an M416, and out of each category, only one contestant will be chosen as the winner.

To enter the contest, participants are being asked to download the necessary templates and creating their design, after which they'll have to share their skin ideas on the social media platform of choice using the hashtag #PUBGSkinContest. They'll also have to tag the official PUBG account in the post, which is generally @PUBG across the platforms. “Our team will choose our favorites and upload the finalists to PUBG.com," the PUBG team wrote. "The winners will be chosen by community votes. So even if you don’t want to design a skin, you can still vote for your favorites."

During the first found when PUBG chooses its contest finalists, entries will be judged by three sets of criteria: creativity, accuracy in following the design guidelines, and "correlation with PUBG brand identity." Essentially, contestants just need to make sure their designs fit with the general PUBG aesthetic, which is hopefully what most fans were going for anyway. As for those design guidelines, PUBG corp. did have a few things for contestants to avoid doing; none of the designs should utilize Ghillie suit textures or greenish camouflage color, and obviously they can't be offensive or use any religious or political symbols. Anything trademarked is also off-limit; PUBG wants purely original designs that'll look as official as any of the already-available skins.

In its post about the contest, PUBG Corp. did also say that it not only reserves the right to use submitted designs as an in-game item but also that it can alter the artwork while it's being implemented into the shooter game. So changes to any winner's design are possible, although hopefully, this won't affect any winner's design too much. Either way, interested fans have until January 5 to submit their designs to the contest.

PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds is available to play on  PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
