PlatinumGames created the Platinum 4 website in early 2020 to talk about its upcoming projects, and that quickly become the home for all the studio's most prevalent announcements over the last year. From revealing the existence of the Wonderful 101 Remastered to announcing its decision to begin self-publishing, it has become a hub for the developer to announce its new ventures and build hype with its fanbase.

The studio has thus far revealed four announcements on the page, and many assumed that would be all it had to offer considering the cryptic "4" in the site's title. However, it seems PlatinumGames isn't done using its experimental reveal format. Cropping up alongside the website's other four stars (which first teased the page's announcements), a fifth star is now visible, with the vague addition being labeled for a 2021 release window.

In addition to the new star, the page also occasionally appears to glitch out, with the words "bonus stage" appearing on the screen. The most obvious candidate for what Platinum is teasing here is the long-awaited Bayonetta 3, which was originally revealed back in December 2017. Since then, little has been shared on the anticipated third entry in the Bayonetta franchise outside of the fact that it will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. The game's creative director Hideki Kamiya made it clear he intends to update fans this year, so the release window could be an indicator that Bayonetta 3 is going to hit shelves in 2021.

It could be a number of other things as well. PlatinumGames has worked on several huge franchises over the years and has other significant new titles in the works. The announcement could involve Babylon's Fallfor example, which was announced at the tail-end of 2019 before vanishing in the months since. The title is slated to be a fantasy adventure that will have the minds over at Square Enix involved, with early footage showcasing a warrior battling against monsters in the barren ruins of a castle. Seeing as Babylon's Fall hasn't yet been mentioned on the Platinum 4 website, it definitely has a chance to be the mystery game being teased.

Nonetheless, it adds some intrigue for fans of the coveted studio, with Platinum clearly gearing up to make an announcement soon. While many are hoping for Bayonettathe team has access to such a wide array of big-name IPs that it's sure to be something PlatinumGames fans can get behind regardless.
