PopCap Games‘ popular Plants Vs. Zombies is finally coming to a home console. On September 8th, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the popular PC and iPhone game with some new additional features.
The most notable new features for the console version are the addition of two multiplayer modes. One is a co-operative mode where two players defend the yard from the zombie rush as a team, the other is a competitive mode where one player controls the attacking zombies and the other player defends. The game will also include Adventure, Puzzle, Mini-Games, Survival, and Zen Garden modes, which were all featured in the PC version. The game will also have 21 new achievements to add to your Gamerscore.
Xbox 360 owners will be able to get PvZ for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) on September 8th as a download off of Xbox Live Arcade. For those of you without an internet connection, or just prefer physical copies of your games, you will be able to purchase a disk copy of the game for $19.99 at retail on September 28th. The retail copy will also have Zuma and Peggle included. An extra $5 for those two games, if you don’t have them already, is a great deal.
Here is the new trailer for the Xbox Live Arcade Plants Vs. Zombies:
I don’t know about you guys, but I am really excited about this game. My only concern is how the controls will feel with a controller, since this was a game designed with a mouse or touch gestures in mind. It does sound like PopCap has a solution worked out where the left stick moves the cursor, the bumpers select the seeds, the ‘A’ button plants, and you hold the triggers to suck in the sunlight. It may take some getting used to but it sounds like a good solution.
So is anyone else planning to pick up Plants Vs. Zombies for the 360? I am really curious to try out the new multiplayer modes. Hopefully, it can add more enjoyment to an already great game.
