A Plague Tale: Innocence tells a grim story of two de Rune siblings learning to survive on their own in the midst of chaos. Despite living under one roof, they know little about each other. The 5-year-old Hugo has been isolated in their mother's study almost all of his life because of his illness. With the ravenous rats plaguing town after town, and the Inquisition hunting Hugo, they're forced to set on a dangerous journey to finding a cure before his time runs out.
Although there are crafting materials that can be found in plain sight, the player will have to thoroughly explore areas and upgrade their pocket and ammunition bag to get everything they need. A tool can help them with that, but it's also a rare resource, often hidden in difficult areas. They will get their first one through old Clervie, after that they're on their own.
Chapter III: Retribution
First Tool
Upon noticing the Three Saints in the catacombs of the monastery, turn right. Proceed through a hallway with three chandeliers and a locked door at the end. There's a room on the left where Amicia and Hugo can find a ladder. Climb up and break the chain of the chandelier to create a safe path. Go up the stairs to see a workbench and the first tool nearby.
Second Tool
After getting separated from Hugo at a dining area in the catacombs, retrieve the torch from him. Go down the stairs and into a great hall with chandeliers. Lead Amicia to the ladder at the back of the hall by knocking the chandeliers down and using sticks. Climb up and turn to the left to see the second tool on a wooden box.
Chapter IV: The Apprentice
First Tool
After sneaking around the first two soldiers in the area, lead Amicia and Hugo to the tall grasses, where they'll notice a small hut. Distract the soldier shoveling by hitting the metallic bin. Sneak towards the small hut and ask Hugo to unlock the window. Get inside the hut to find the first tool on a shelf among the pots.
Second Tool
Lead the pushing cart towards Laurentius' place. Behind the covered cart, there's a chest under the platform. Open it to find the second tool inside.
Chapter V: The Raven's Spoil
First Tool
Upon reaching the first siege tower, hit the chain to put the drawbridge down. Kill the alerted soldier inside. The first tool is in a wooden box on the right side before a bundle of sticks.
Second Tool
Upon reaching an area where they can find two corpses hanging on a tree, distract the ravenous rats with it. Get inside the wooden station and take the torch. The exit is on the left side near the closed gate. Get out and turn towards the left to find a spilled chest with the second tool nearby.
Chapter VI: Damaged Goods
First Tool
Sneak with Melie through a tent where the sleeping soldiers are. Continue walking without knocking the bottles, but before following her further, turn left. The first tool is on a tree stump near the right side of the table. Watch out for the patrolling guard.
Second Tool
After safely making their way through the dining and kitchen area, follow Melie towards the logs. They'll spot Hugo inside a hanging cage. When the gathering soldiers spread out, turn left to find the second tool on a table in the red tent.
Chapter VII: The Path Before Us
First Tool
Go to the abandoned water mill, let Melie unlock the door. Disable the wheel completely with the help of Hugo and Melie. Let Hugo handle the lower levers, and let Melie handle the wheel at the other side. Make sure that Hugo also goes to the other lower lever. Go to the room where they can find a workbench and the first tool nearby.
Second Tool
In the forest, sneak towards the portcullis using Devorantis and Amicia's sling. Afterwards, they'll hear Lucas captured by a soldier. Kill the soldier so they will all be reunited. Follow Lucas through the forest towards the Alchemist cart, where there's the second tool and a workbench inside.
Third Tool
Inside Château d'Ombrage, Amicia and Melie will clear the rats in the courtyard by pushing them all down to the pit. Amicia will tell Melie that she's going down to light up another brazier. Melie will then ask her to light up a brazier on the red section. Climb up the ledge and push the brazier towards the other side. Release it and go to the corner, where she can find a chest containing the third tool.
Chapter VIII: Our Home
Only Tool
Upon softly awakened by Hugo from a bad dream, he tells Amicia to follow him. Instead of following him immediately, find the workbench north of their bed. There's a tool near it.
Chapter IX: In the Shadow of Ramparts
First Tool
Jump over a fence with white chalk on it. Notice the people having a conversation below. When the rats erupt from the ground and spread out, they'll run through a dark alley where the chest containing the first tool is. When the raven flies away, walk to its spot and use the ignifer to light up the torch in that dark alley. There'll be a bundle of sticks at the left corner upon getting down from the roof.
Second Tool
As Amicia reaches the cemetery, turn left. There's a spotlight stand Amicia can use to block the rats away and enter the house safely. Inside, there's a workbench and a chest containing the second tool.
Third Tool
When Amicia reaches an area where she sees corpses of sick people gathered, there'll be a dying person saying something about the inquisition. Continue walking until she sees a soldier talking to the rats in the cages. There's a narrow path that leads to a chest containing the third tool to his right. Distract the soldier and use the Odoris to kill him.
Chapter X: The Way of Roses
First Tool
Sneak towards the nearby room upon noticing a group of soldiers guarding a prisoner. Use the spotlight stand in the next room to unblock the rats. Use an Odoris on the standing soldier with a shield, so the rats will kill both of them. Leave the room. Turn right to see a workbench and the first tool on a shelf near the dark end of the hall.
Second Tool
In the underground library where the Sanguinis Itinera can be found, proceed towards a narrow path at the end of the left side corner, where there's a candle and stone at its entrance. The second tool on a wooden chair across the table.
Third Tool
During their escape from the Grand Inquisitor, Rodric will give Amicia the Extinguis recipe. Use it on the first soldier with shield to get down to the courtyard. There's another soldier carrying a torch, use the Extinguis on his torch to distract the rats and kill him. Sneak around towards the other hedge. Jump over the wooden fence to find the third tool on a wooden box.
Fourth Tool
In the courtyard, there's an opened gate on the right side. Throw the Luminosa at the center to kill all the rats in the box. Proceed to the Alchemist Cart to get the fourth tool.
Chapter XI: Alive
Only Tool
Follow Rodric to the courtyard through a shortcut. Jump on the wall and climb down the ladder to get to the inner courtyard. Before catching up to Rodric, climb the ladder on of the blue section and cross the bridge to the left to reach the red section. Get down the ladder to find the only tool on a cart.
Chapter XII: All That Remains
First Tool
After clearing a path using a cart, continue walking upwards. Go right towards the spotlight stand near the buildings. There's a stone building filled with rats on the right side. Use the Luminosa to kill all the rats and to get the first tool inside.
Second Tool
In the garden of the de Rune family estate, go down and light up two torch stands. The right one behind the haystack and the left one near the end. Take the right path, light up the haystacks along the way until they reach the left torch stand with a pushing cart nearby. Don't light up the pushing cart yet. Instead, ask Lucas to stay behind and get into the Alchemist Cart, where the second tool is. Use the Luminosa and Odoris.
Chapter XV: Remembrance
First Tool
Go towards Rodric's forge, with Lucas nearby trying to open up a chest. Amicia will find the first tool among the other crafting materials.
Second Tool
Join Arthur in lighting up the braziers. Upon reaching the inner courtyard where Arthur tells Amicia to handle the brazier at the blue section, don't light it up and push it just yet. Climb the ladder and enter the open path leading to the stairs, there's the second tool on a wooden box at the end of it.
Chapter XVI: Coronation
First Tool
Upon killing the two guards facing each other using Imperium, they will enter an area where they have to be extra sneaky. There's an archer, 3 patrolling guards, and a powerful guard with mace. The first tool is on the rail by the stairs, guarded by an archer.
Second Tool
After crossing the bridge through a portcullis, they will reach an abandoned marketplace with the cathedral across of it. Go to the rightmost side to find a workbench and the second tool nearby.
