Zen Studios' Pinball FX will be getting a new Borderlands-themed table which will be released in the near future. With Zen Studios' long-standing reputation and experience in the pinball market, it's not surprising to see how the team continues to provide regular updates and content to fans of the game.

Zen Studios is no stranger to tying up with recognizable brands. It has constantly built successful partnerships with franchises—for example, Star Wars Pinball and Bethesda. While Pinball FX has been around as early as 2007 as a series, the latest game has taken the same name. This new entry, also titled Pinball FX is currently available in early access on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Zen Studios released a trailer on its YouTube page, revealing that Pinball FX will be getting a new Borderlands-themed table. As seen in the footage, the Borderlands table will see characters such as Claptrap, a generic psycho, and skags, along with familiar locations and assets. While not much information was detailed in the trailer, Zen Studios nailed the visuals right on the head by providing an authentic feel taken from the games. The inclusion of Borderlands' iconic psycho takes the cake—even stealing the spotlight towards the end of the trailer.

The post-apocalyptic science-fiction setting of Borderlands works well as a Pinball FX stage as multiple elements such as the characters and the setting look stunning. The enemies' interactions with the pinball also look amazing—with some major antagonists making their way via some side slots on the table. As previously stated, the psycho looks to play a big part in the table so expect some crazy animations to be shown. Borderlands' psycho has represented the franchise in games such as Fortnite as well, so it's a great selection on Zen Studios' part. It is still unknown if any other grunt characters will make the cut, but at least the skags may be joining the psycho in the table as well.

This is not the first time Gearbox Software's looter-shooter has crossed over to different games. Previously, Borderlands and Sea of Thieves had a cross-over wherein a Borderlands-inspired ship was made available in-game. With the franchise maintaining regular visibility within the public eye, Pinball FX could benefit from the massive fan support—especially since the official launch of Pinball FX on current-gen is also on February 2023. With its high presence, and a recent videogame in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, the recall value for Borderlands is strong. Ideally, this pinball table should appease fans looking for their Borderlands fix without being thrown into a first-person shooter setting.

Pinball FX is available for PC in Early Access via the Epic Games Store. It will be available in full on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S in February 2023.
