Despite what little press there was on Pikmin Bloom, the game has been in a closed beta for many players for the last while. A recent update to the beta revealed the Pikmin mobile game's name, as well as a press release discussing what features wouldn't make the cut to the final version. There was a reason this news was revealed, and that's because Pikmin Bloom was also released globally outside of beta on the same day.

Pikmin Bloom was revealed in March early this year, with a 2021 release date. The game had a closed beta in Singapore, and not much was known about the game and how it worked. Even with a more widespread beta, many fans weren't sure the game would be ready to hit its expected release date. Niantic and Nintendo decided to surprise fans with an unexpected announcement.

Pikmin Bloom has been announced to be rolling out onto the App Store and Google Play Store slowly over the next few days, already being available in Australia and Singapore. The game deals with finding Pikmin seedlings and helping them grow in number to make a player's "Pikmin Squad." With enough Pikmin walking alongside players, flowers will grow along paths, eventually leading to "shared gardens" made by all the local Pikmin Bloom users in that area.

Niantic hopes that this game will inspire people to go on daily walks just a bit more often, using Pikmin as a relaxing way to make those walks just "a little more magical." From what it seems like, where Pokemon GO invites players to explore to find new creatures and see the world, Pikmin Bloom is a bit more small scale, aiming to help people enjoy even the smallest of outings with their Pikmin Squad.

Pikmin fanatics are enthusiastic about the launch, eager to download it as fast as possible once it becomes available in their region. While there's no telling just yet how long that will take, hopefully, gamers won't be made to wait much longer in comparison to Pokemon GO's rollout, which happened across several months.

For those looking for a more simple and easy game than Pokemon GO, this may be the app for them. With Pikmin Bloom, the aim seems to be to get people walking, no matter what amount, and to let them have a new way to remember their journey with the cute flower creatures of Pikmin by their side.

Pikmin Bloom is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
