The latest mobile game to come from Niantic, Pikmin Bloom, is very different from Pokemon GO in that it doesn't primarily focus on battling or catching anything. It's a mobile app that is very much meant to get players moving around by growing their Pikmin army and collecting fruit and other items.

Players can send their beloved Pikmin out on expeditions to gather items, but the items will only appear in a location that the player has previously traveled to. For the players stuck at home that can't find fruit on their own, there is another way to find nearby items, and that is through the Detector item in Pikmin Bloom.

Pikmin Bloom Detector Explained

After gaining a few levels in Pikmin Bloom, which is easily done by taking lots of steps and planting new Pikmin, gamers will have the chance to use the Detector item, which can be found when looking at the overview map screen. Press on the compass icon at the bottom of the main screen and players will see an icon that resembles a sonar/satellite dish near the flower petal icon.

By using the Detector, players can find hidden items nearby, such as fruit or new seedlings. After the items are uncovered, players can start an expedition and send out their Pikmin to retrieve them. However, it's worth noting that the Detector can only be used in Pikmin Bloom once per day for free. If folks would like to use the Detector more than once, they will need to recharge it for 100 Coins.

Before placing the Detector down, the game will show icons of what types of points of interest are nearby. Players will want to use the Detector near these places of interest, such as a shopping center or post office, so more items will be available for the Pikmin to collect.

How to Get Coins in Pikmin Bloom

The primary way for Pikmin Bloom players to collect more Flower Coins to recharge the Detector is by going to the in-game shop and using real-world money. 100 Coins can be purchased for $1.49, and the price goes up from there for more bundles of coins. There are also coins rewarded to players by simply playing through the game, but this will take longer.

Pikmin Bloom is available now for mobile devices in most parts of the world.
