Due to the coronavirus pandemic, at one point many Nintendo fans were concerned about the developer's release schedule for the second half of 2020, even though Nintendo assured shareholders that its Switch games were not impacted by COVID-19. Since then, many new titles have been announced for the latter portion of the year, including September's Super Mario 3D All-Stars as well as the upcoming Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Both Pikmin 3 Deluxe, set to release October 30, and Age of Calamity, set to release in November, will be the focus of a Nintendo Treehouse Live tomorrow that the Nintendo of America Twitter publicized this afternoon. The October 7 livestream will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT with a "deep dive" into the Wii U Pikmin game's enhanced Switch port, then look at a new stage and gameplay details for the hack-and-slash Breath of the Wild prequel.

With the release dates for these two games coming up soon, it makes sense that Nintendo would be offering more information in a collective package to ensure as many fans as possible see both. The developer also released a new Pikmin 3 Deluxe trailer yesterday, and this morning offered a first look at Age of Calamity's Sheikah Researchers Robbie and Purah.

One of the last major Treehouse Live events took place in July. During that stream, Nintendo showcased Paper Mario: The Origami King and announced WayForward's Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia. Viewers who had their hopes up for a first-party game announcement expressed disappointment in the Bakugan reveal, and it seems the specificity of Nintendo's Tweet today may be a response to those heightened expectations.

While audience receptions to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity have been mostly positive, Pikmin 3 Deluxe has fostered a little more controversy. Some fans expressed disappointment that Pikmin 4 was not announced instead, and Nintendo was criticized for briefly removing Pikmin 3 from the Wii U eShop after its enhanced port was unveiled.

That being said, both games having time in the spotlight should give Nintendo fans more of a chance to gauge how they feel about each release — though no details are provided as to how long the Treehouse Live will be in its current listing on Nintendo's website. The new Hyrule Warriors in particular has received a lot of attention, with Age of Calamity showing off a playable character at Tokyo Game Show 2020, so it will be interesting to see what comes from this event.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe will be available for Nintendo Switch on October 30.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be available for Nintendo Switch on November 20.
