Kinetic Games released the popular ghost-tracking title Phasmophobia last year and it has officially been updated for single-player gameplay. Now aspiring ghost hunters can lock themselves up alone with the paranormal to feel a true connection to the dead.

The addition of Solo Mode to Phasmophobia changes up the ghost tracking game quite a bit considering the usual team-dynamic that the game has. The Solo Mode will not connect players to the Phasmophobia server at all to ensure the full isolation experience. The ghosts will still behave as Phasmophobia fans would expect from typical gameplay, but players are sure to feel more of a chill in the air while trying to complete contracts alone.

Being an online-only title before, many gamers have anticipated the addition of a single-player mode to Phasmophobia. Since it was released last year, several streamers have exposed their communities to Phasmophobia and brought an even broader audience to the title as a result. The addition of single-player is leading to a new influx of ghost trackers to Phasmophobia.

Fan feedback has shown that there's still a demand for single-player in games. Although it took Kinetic Games a year to release Solo Mode to Phasmophobia, the team will still continue expanding on the paranormal game for new players. It's currently unclear if Kinetic Games intends to release exclusive content for single-player Phasmophobia in the future, but the experience is currently very similar.

Kinetic Games is celebrating a year of Phasmophobia and the addition of the single-player mode is just part of several new changes. The one-year Phasmophobia anniversary update also added new fonts and made changes to the ghost orbs. Players will no longer be fined for failing a contract and will now see what ghost type they were tracking upon failing. A prominent change to Phasmophobia in this update is a complete overhaul to the Journal, which solo and group players alike will experience.

Fans of ghost-tracking TV shows will be familiar with the odd time that one person locks themselves up alone in order to see if the paranormal is shy or wary of others in their group. This can often lead to new discoveries and the addition of Solo Mode to Phasmophobia may lead to some players discovering new things as they explore paranormal locations alone.

The one-year anniversary update for Phasmophobia also included a number of fixes. A prominent Phasmophobia bug where players encountered a ghost whisper paranormal sound that stayed active on the parabolic microphone. Several safe locations where players were relying on in order to dodge ghosts have also been fixed to ensure that nowhere is safe.

Phasmophobia is available right now for Android and PC.
