Traveling through the universe and encountering all the threats that go along with it, players need to prepare if they want to survive in Phantasy Star Online 2. The game pushes players to their limit with near-limitless challenges ranging from exploring the planet Ragol to fighting off the wide array of monsters that come with the territory.

The best defense is a good offense, a phrase that has never been truer than when players are walking through unknown territory. Choosing a weapon and what string of Photon Arts to attach will be as important a choice as deciding what style of combat on the menu.

10 Guilty Break

performing a sword skill in Phantasy Art 2

Closing the distance is going to be priority number one in any big battle as most enemies will cover a lot of space and fight on a large battlefield. An added flurry of attacks is just the cherry on top as it will catch them off guard and interrupt any attacks in progress.

Even the most mobile challenger won't be able to escape the onslaught, especially once it's fully charged and covering long distances. The low cost also makes dashing around the battlefield an easy task as Guilty Break is readily available once enemies start running.

9 Raging Waltz

Phantasy Star, leaping attack

Raging Waltz is the attack that makes the Twin Dagger's worth their salt. Initiating offense with a leap into the air, players will be able to take aim and launch at their target. If the enemy is partial to running around the field, this is the easiest solution to catch them quickly.

Once players get some progress in the game they'll be able to adjust the spin and speed up the process. Chasing enemies has never been more fun, especially when the high-level attacks can come straight after.

8 Baleful Circle

The most powerful attack in the Double Saber arsenal, the player's weapon will be thrown and hit multiple targets in a wide area. While most players will use this as an offensive move, it can also serve as a great way to push back groups that are swarming.

While the weapon is out of the character's hands it will provide many opportunities to reposition or parry any attacks that come back. It proves a big distraction to the enemy when a flying saber comes swinging their way, leaving them wide open for separate attacks.

7 Jetsweep Kick

Phantasy star online 2, training moves

The rarest jet boots move in the game, only a few are lucky enough to stumble upon the Jetsweep Kick. Players will know right away that they've got something special when it takes up the entire focus gauge to use.

A massive ranged explosion that will take out most enemies, the Jetsweep can also be transferred into a giant kick. The most powerful attack for Jet Boots, it's no surprise it only drops from high-level bosses some of the time.

6 Pendulum Combo

throwing a knuckles combination in the air

Anyone using the knuckles will rely on this move a lot. Straight forward and powerful, the Pendulum combo will unleash a figure-eight combination strong enough to seriously injure even the most stubborn enemy.

If the player ducks during this combination then there are periods of invincibility that make any danger of leaving the character open null and void. This can make for a great defense tactic when needed.

5 Blade Bash

throwing a stun move, Phantasy Star Online 2

A minor move that doesn't have the flash most players are looking for, Blade Bash instead provides one of the best setups in the game. Simply bashing the enemy with the sword, enemies will be stunned and unable to defend themselves.

Most combinations or big damage moves should begin with Blade Bash as its speed allows players to attack quickly. It's the lowest cost of any other sword move, allowing the player to get a lot of practice and have it available at any point during the battle.

4 Orchestral Conductor

Phantasy Star training grounds

A lot of the Twin Daggers attacks propel the enemy into the air with this combination being the follow-up, chaining together a long line of strikes too fast for the enemy to avoid.  The lack of range means players will have to stay in tight, making sure they don't end up swinging at air.

Once it connects it all happens in a blur. A quick entry pairs well with this attack and gets players up close and personal without the risk of any interference, letting the conductor do his work.

3 Cyclone Driver

Phantasy star online 2, battlegrounds

A move only used in fighting siblings and bad action movies, the player grabs the enemy and spins them rapidly. Not only does it damage the target but also anyone standing in the perimeter, making Cyclone Driver especially effective in groups.

Dealing high damage and being very easy to use, this move is one of the most accessible AoE attacks on the list. Covering a good range mid-spin and taking a few hits to get to the center of the group is the best tactic to take out all opponents.

2 Infinite Storm

shooting a gun in training

The attack many Twin Machinegun players will be very familiar with as it's the main attack for covering distance. From dealing damage mid-movement to wild spurts of damage that increase when the player activates chain trigger, Infinite Storm packs the biggest punch.

One of the only attacks that drifts between useful and mind-blowing, once players get comfortable with the difference there's little use for other attacks. The ability to extend the bullets with a press of a button makes for one of the easiest finishing moves in the game.

1 Morning Mistreaver

Damaging combination thrown in training

The mobility move for katanas, Morning Mistreaver is the fastest way to travel via attack that players are going to get. Being rocketed forward, as soon as contact is made it's time to attack with a deadly combination. It's the highest damage move out of the katana.

Hands down the fastest move in the game, it's sure to catch any enemy off guard. Combined with the low cost and effective movement, it's not hard to see why it's the best attack for the weapon.
