With 2K swooping up HB Studios to design PGA TOUR 2K, it became clear that 2K was hoping to replicate the success of NBA 2K with PGA 2KWhile golf may not have quite the same appeal as basketball in the world of video games, there has been a void in the simulator department of golf games for a while, and the PGA TOUR 2K games had the opportunity to step in. Apparently, the game did just that.

The well-reviewed PGA TOUR 2K21 is now a well-performing game as well in terms of sales. The CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, recently reported that the game has sold around 2 million units. This result is something that the team is very proud of, and Take-Two believes that the game will only continue to sell. Additionally, with how well PGA TOUR 2K21 has done, it makes it more clear that it will not simply be a one-off and that PGA TOUR 2K will likely be a franchise moving forward.
