Update 4/3: PewDiePie has somehow managed to come back and now has a nearly 300,000 subscriber lead over T-Series. Original story follows.

The YouTube subscriber count battle between PewDiePie and T-Series seems to finally be at its end. A couple of days ago, T-Series beat PewDiePie yet again, but this time it maintained its lead, and managed to grow its number of subscribers to nearly 92 million. At the time of this writing, there is over an over 107,000 subscriber count difference between PewDiePie and T-Series, making it very unlikely that PewDiePie's fans will be able to rally and retake the top spot.

Since it seems that T-Series has finally defeated PewDiePie for good this time, PewDiePie has acknowledged the loss in his most recent video. The video is really an episode of his You Laugh You Lose series, but it starts with him reacting to his loss to T-Series. He takes a look at PewDiePie vs. T-Series memes throughout the video, and ends on an optimistic note, promising his fans that his channel will still hit 100 million subscribers soon.

The PewDiePie vs. T-Series war has been going on for months, and has seen both parties take action in their efforts to win. PewDiePie's supporters went as far as to hack printers to print out a "subscribe to PewDiePie" message, as well as purchase a billboard in Times Square to promote the channel. T-Series' efforts to win have been less theatrical, though the head of the company did make a plea on social media for the people of India to mass-subscribe to the channel so that it could hold the distinction of being the most-subscribed channel on YouTube.

While it does seem like T-Series has a big enough lead that it's virtually impossible for PewDiePie to pull ahead at this point, stranger things have happened. In the past, PewDiePie's fans have managed to rally behind the YouTuber and retake the top spot when all hope seemed lost, and it's possible something like that will happen again. However, India has a staggering population of 1.3 billion people, which combined with PewDiePie's various controversies, makes it an uphill battle for PewDiePie to be sure.

Time will tell whether or not PewDiePie can retake the top spot on YouTube from T-Series. In the meantime, the battle to see which channel can hit 100 million subscribers first rages on.
