YouTube and internet sensation Felix Kjellberg, better known to the world as PewDiePie, has officially tied the knot to his long-time girlfriend, Marzia Bisognin. Youtube's PewDiePie announced the news on Twitter earlier today, confirming that the pair got married on August 19th in London, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
The couple first met 8 years ago when a close friend of Marzia recommended that she watch some of PewDiePies's videos, whose popularity on YouTube had begun to grow rapidly following the success of his Amnesia: The Dark Descent series. Originally from Sweden, Felix moved to Italy to live with Marzia in 2011 where the couple resided until mid-2013 when they relocated to the UK.
Felix announced the news on Twitter, where he posted multiple photos from the woodland wedding in London alongside the caption: "We are married!!! I'm the happiest I can be ❤️ I'm so lucky to share my life with this amazing woman." Marzia, also took to social media, posting a lengthy, heartfelt message to her new husband on her Instagram account.
"Yesterday, the 19th of August - after exactly 8 years since we met - we celebrated our wedding with our closest friends and family," the former YouTube personality turned Italian fashion designer began. "It was the most beautiful day, which I will treasure forever. I am so thankful for all the people that made time to attend the event and helped us celebrate our marriage. I feel like I’m the luckiest person and I’m so full of love. Incredibly ecstatic to be able to call Felix my husband for the rest of our lives."
Many fans have flooded social media to share their congratulations to the new couple since the announcement took place. Friend and fellow YouTuber JacksepticEye wrote, "Love you guys!! Congrats on an amazing day. You guys looked so beautiful," while another fan took to Instagram, writing "Ahh congratulations!! I’m so happy for you two, you make the best couple."
The last couple of months have been relatively positive for PewDiePie, now making headlines for his comedy, major YouTube milestones, the instant success of his recent Minecraft Let's Play series, co-hosted Meme Review alongside Dr. Phil, and most recently, his beautiful wedding.
