Coming fresh off the heels of November's Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Japanese video game developer Omega Force is hard at work on the localization of its warriors-styled Persona 5 spinoff game, Persona 5 Strikers. Initially released as Persona 5 Scramble in Japan this past February, the game is being localized for a Western release almost a year later, set to release on February 23, 2021.

Just like many of Omega Force's hack and slash spinoff titles — Hyrule WarriorsFire Emblem Warriors, and Dragon Quest Heroes — Persona 5 Strikers is shaping up to be a faithful representation of its source material. Being such, the game replicates Persona 5's iconic art-style, witty dialogue, and catchy music, but many have been wondering how this all will translate to Persona 5 Strikers' file size in its Western release.

Nintendo's official eShop webpage has indicated that anyone who wants to download the game to their Nintendo Switch directly from the eShop should have at least 12.0 GB of free storage. While this certainly isn't the largest game on the Nintendo Switch, coming just short of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's size of 14.4 GB, it is larger than Omega Force's most recent Nintendo Switch release, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which came in at 10.9 GB.

Interestingly, Persona 5 Strikers' 12.0 GB size is a bit larger than the version of the game that released in Japan this past February, which came in at 10.1 GB. Though this has not been confirmed by the game's developer, it is likely to account for extra options and content in the Western release, such as the ability to choose between either English or Japanese voice acting.

Although Persona 5 Strikers is a spinoff of the critically acclaimed RPG, the game's director has reassured fans that its storyline is canonical and thus is a direct sequel to Persona 5. Fans of the series in the West can be sure to expect the same Persona 5 charm they know and love when the Phantom Thieves strike back early next year.

Persona 5 Strikers will release for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4 on February 23rd.
