Throughout the five years since its highly-anticipated release in 2017, Persona 5 has been no stranger to a wide variety of spinoffs and tie-ins. The massively successful RPG following the Phantom Thieves has received multiple spinoff titles, mouthwash, figures, and even a physical card game. Now, the Persona franchise's newest collaboration will see the popular JRPG taking a note from one of its major Palaces and taking a trip to the casinos.

With the Persona franchise celebrating its 25th anniversary, the highly-regarded JRPG series has already seen plenty of announcements throughout the past few months with a variety of new content for fans. March welcomed the remastered version of Persona 4's fighting game spinoff Persona 4 Arena Ultimax while rumors have persisted about a potential announcement of both new versions of Persona 4 and an eventual reveal of Persona 6. As the newest title in the franchise, Persona 5 has seen plenty of attention throughout the festivities with the game now set to receive themed slot machines.

Sega Sammy officially revealed that the popular JRPG would be getting its own set of slot machines with the casino game officially titled Persona 5 for Reels. The preview video shows off several clips from the machine with plenty of recognizable animations from the game being featured including several characters' critical hit animations and featuring the iconic All Out Attack animation for jackpots. The game even features a major reference to Persona 5's finale with Joker calling his ultimate Persona, Satanael.

Persona 5's foray into gambling does not come as a surprise both due to the massive popularity of the JRPG as well as gaming's long and storied history with casinos. One of Persona 5's major dungeons featured the Phantom Thieves infiltrating a casino and many other games often include casino-themed gambling mini-games. Gambling has even become a popular game genre in its own right with gambling streams often being a popular topic for many streamers on Twitch.

The Persona 5 slot machine will join a massive list of new content the Persona franchise has received over Atlus' celebration of its flagship franchise's 25th anniversary with plenty still to come. Beyond the already confirmed concert and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax's release, Atlus still has a number of announcements in the works for Persona throughout the year with fans speculating that a Persona 6 confirmation or a new Persona 3 project may be yet to come from the developer. Persona 5 for Reels will add another chapter to the storied history of Persona tie-ins throughout the franchise's 25 years.

Persona 5 is available now for PS3 and PS4.
