The curtain was pulled back a couple months ago on the mysterious Persona 5: The Royal, which turned out to be exactly what many assumed. This rerelease, remake, or whatever you want to call it, will be loaded with new features, new characters, and is launching in Japan later this year. Here in the West, we weren't sure when exactly this beauty would be dubbed and hitting our shores, but now Atlus has given us a definite answer, and it's sooner than many thought.

E3 2019 is in full swing, and gaming companies are using this time to release new content, announce new titles, and dish on all the exciting details that we gamers crave. Atlus has chosen this time to release a new trailer for Persona 5: The Royal for western audiences. It is same as the first Japanese trailer released in April, but now features the returning cast of English voice actors. The footage, however, is still in Japanese.

Anyone who analyzed the trailer the first go around won't learn anything new here, except for what appears at the finish. Tacked on to the end is confirmation that Persona 5: The Royal will release in the West and Asia in 2020.

When Persona 5: The Royal  first made an appearance, it was announced as Persona 5 R, which added mystery to the title. But that's not the only enigmatic promotion Atlus had up its sleeve. The company was also teasing Persona 5 S, which many assumed was short for "Switch", and that a port of Persona 5 would be announced for the console soon. This assumption was close, but not quite accurate.

Turns out it is a title for the Switch, but it's an all-new one called Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, an action RPG that was announced through a short teaser trailer. It has a Dynasty Warriors feel to the gameplay, which is a very different style fans are used. There's no release date set yet, so those interested may have to wait a while.

Persona 5: The Royal is scheduled to release on October 31, 2019 in Japan and some time in 2020 in the West and Asia for PS4.
