Choosing the appropriate skills is likely the most crucial aspect of Persona 5 Royal. Certainly, the player's confidant levels will make a significant impact, and their choice of team members will alter the battle's flow, but both of these factors come down to the skills they enable the gamer to use.

Of course, it is essential to equip oneself with the best tools available in each battle, but with so many options in the game, a player would be asking themselves which Physical skills are the best. As there are more Personas to fuse than ever before, we've compiled the following list to help the player through the various skill choices.

7 Ayamur

Baal

Although this skill is not the best, it is still worth mentioning. Ayamur inflicts medium physical damage on a single target. It strikes three times with high accuracy of 95% and has a 10% critical rate. This skill is Baal's exclusive move in Persona 5 Royal, and cannot be learned by any other Persona. In order for Baal, a Persona of the Emperor Arcana, to get this particular skill, the player needs to level up the demon to level 84.

The demons that have this Physical skill are:

  • Baal (84)

6 Swift Strike

Rangda

Another skill worth noting is Swift Strike. In Persona 5, with Swift Strike (also called Lightning Strike), the player can strike all opponents three to four times. However, this skill was nerfed in Persona 5 Royal to cause minuscule damage and a minimum of two hits instead of three.

The quickest way to try out this skill would be by leveling up Ryuji Sakamoto to level 32. The player may also teach Swift Strike to their Personas via a Skill Card. It can only be acquired through an Electric Chair Execution on the Moon Persona Girimekhala.

The demons that have this Physical skill are:

  • Rangda (Innate)
  • Unicorn (level 42)
  • Power (level 42)
  • Zouchouten (level 35)
  • Take-Minakata (level 31)
  • Hecatoncheires (Innate)
  • Matador (level 22)
  • Byakko (Innate)

5 Sword Dance

Ongyo-Ki

Even though Sword Dance is a Physical skill that is used to deliver low damage, it has a high critical rate, not to mention an accuracy of 80%. Sumire Yoshizawa is the only party member who has it innately. However, the player will be able to learn the skill if one of their party members equips a certain accessory, which is the Sword Dance Belt. Furthermore, the Sword Dance Belt may be obtained by conducting an Electric Chair Execution on the Hermit Persona Ongyo-Ki.

The demons that have this Physical skill are:

  • Raphael (Innate)
  • Metatron (Innate)
  • Sandalphon (level 79)
  • Michael (level 89)

4 God’s Hand

Cerberus

God's Hand has a normal critical rate (15%) but strikes like a truck. If the player plans on using this skill constantly, it would be best to level up their team member, Ryuji Sakamoto, to level 75. The player may also teach God's Hand to their Personas with a Skill Card. It can only be acquired through an Electric Chair Execution on the Chariot Persona Cerberus.

The demons that have this Physical skill are:

  • Melchizedek (level 65)
  • Bishamonten (level 73)
  • Zaou-Gongen (Innate)
  • Messiah (Innate)
  • Ardha (Innate)

3 Gigantomachia

Asterius

Gigantomachia inflicts colossal physical damage on all opponents. It does have a low critical rate of 5%, but to counter that, it has an accuracy of 85%, somewhat higher than the previously mentioned skill. If players want to acquire this skill through a skill card, they will need to carry out an Electric Chair Execution on the Fortune Persona Asterius Picaro, or by negotiating (having a demon conversation) with the Hermit Persona Fafnir.

The demons that have this Physical skill are:

  • Chi You (Innate)
  • Fafnir (Innate)
  • Asterius (level 62)
  • Asterius Picaro (level 68)
  • Lucifer (Innate)
  • Abaddon (level 81)

2 Brave Blade

Surt

Brave Blade is somewhat less powerful than God's Hand, but it has a higher critical rate (35%), and accuracy of 90%. One way to obtain this skill is to level up the player's fellow teammate, Yusuke Kitagawa, to level 73. Party members may learn Brave Blade if they possess the Brave Belt accessory. To get this accessory, the player needs to do an Electric Chair Execution on the Faith Persona Siegfried.

1 Hassou Tobi

Yoshitsune

If the gamer is a dedicated fan of the franchise, they should be well aware of the most powerful Physical Skill in the game, which is Hassou Tobi. Yes, the player will need to do a lot of leveling up and social link-raising to get this bad boy, but it's well worth it.

Only the Tower Persona Yoshitsune is capable of learning this unique skill. It is also the most effective skill in the game when combined with other Passive skills. Hassou Tobi strikes 8 times and delivers light physical damage to all opponents. The accuracy and critical rate are evaluated on the first strike, which means that if the first one misses or hits a critical hit, the rest will too.

The demons that have this Physical skill are:

  • Yoshitsune (level 94)

Persona 5 Royal is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
