Yosuke Hanamura is one of the many highlights of the Persona 4 Golden cast. He shares many similarities with the protagonist and is one of his closest friends, with his Social Link being the first that the player can unlock. His integral role in the story as both a playable character and a close confidant makes him a fan favorite.

How To Unlock Yosuke's Social Link
Unlike many of the other Social Links in Persona 4, Yosuke's Social Link is unlocked naturally as the story progresses. His first rank unlocks on April 16, early into the game. Since Yosuke is a member of the party, he doesn't require any of the player's social stats to be a certain rank, but increasing the Understanding rank to 4 will unlock some additional responses that are otherwise unavailable to the player. These don't gain any extra points in his social link, though, so it isn't necessary.
Another important note is that just like with the other Social Links in Persona 4 Golden, the player can gain bonus affinity with Yosuke by ensuring that one of the Persona in their party matches his Arcana. In this case, Yosuke's Arcana is the Magician, so keeping a Persona such as Jack Frost in the party will give a bonus to the points earned while interacting with him. How To Rank Up Yosuke's Social Links
Yosuke is available most of the time to be leveled up, only being unavailable on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well as rainy days. Since he is heavily involved with the main story, his availability can be impacted by specific story events. Yosuke is also easy enough to find, as he will be in the Classroom building at school, outside 2F on schooldays, and at Junes on Sundays and other holidays.
