After a decade and some change, Persona 4 Golden players on PC can finally get their hands on the long-lost Yosuke romance.

Cut from the original version of Persona 4, players eventually found a voiced line in which Yosuke confesses his affection for the player character hidden in the game's files, but nothing came of it until now. Currently, a mod is in the works to fully restore that line, and create a full Yosuke romance.

Modder MadMax1960 released a video to show the mod's current work-in-progress state, and it shows off that cut voice line in action. While the mod clearly still needs some TLC - the voice acting and the writing still don't completely match up, among other things - the mod is very much being worked on. Even in its unfinished state, fans can try out the mod in Persona 4 Golden and see how it works for themselves.

While that hidden Yosuke line was actually discovered some time ago, players were unable to do anything but mourn the loss of a canonically queer romance option until the game's Persona 4 Golden version came to Steam. MadMax1960's current work focuses around cleaning up the script and digging through audio index numbers, while also possibly editing earlier scenes to have the romance develop progressively rather than drop in right at the end.

Regardless, players can rest assured that the Persona 4 Golden mod is coming along; another example of how fans can take games into their own hands and deliver on the things that developers won't.

Persona 4 Golden is available now for PS Vita and PC.
