Atlus has just unveiled that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will be getting new features and gameplay changes when the JRPG titles reach modern gaming platforms. With both Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden remasters sharing release dates this January, it seems only right that the developers provide new information about the games to build the fanbase's excitement over them.It was during the June 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase that it was announced that P3P and P4 Golden will be joining Persona 5 Royal on current game consoles. This likely led to a lot of excited discussion by the Persona community, especially by fans who have been hoping that Atlus would finally remaster Persona 3 Portable. With the release date of both titles just a month or so away, the fanbase is probably satisfied to see that Atlus is slowly revealing more information about the changes being implemented to the two ports.RELATED: Persona Dancing Soundtrack Is Getting A Vinyl CollectionOn the official Persona Japanese website, Atlus detailed the gameplay changes and new additions for the remasters of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden. According to Google Translate, both JRPG titles will be getting upgraded high resolution graphics for a smoother experience in-game. What's more, each game's difficulty can already be chosen at the beginning of the game. Most players of the originals will likely remember that game difficulty can only be chosen after the second week of the in-game calendar. Atlus also provided their recommendation that beginners choose the easiest difficulty since it does not affect the game's story in any way.

Another change that players should expect from the modern ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden include being able to save at any point while playing. Previously, both games only allowed saving through specific save points. And finally, specifically for Persona 4 Golden, the game will have a brand-new album feature. The album feature will let players revisit cutscenes that they have already witnessed and even choose alternative dialogue options to see if there are differences in conversations.

As the release date of the Persona remasters draws nearer, Atlus will likely publish more details about both games. Fans will likely be interested to know what they can expect, especially since some have waited so long to finally play Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden on platforms that they currently own. Hopefully Atlus hears the fanbase's call and gives the players the information they are asking for.

Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are launching on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on January 19, 2023.
