Gift-giving has always been one of the ultimate staples of the life-simulation features of the Persona franchise. While a comparatively light feature compared to the deep storylines and intensive combat systems, gifting is both fun and relatively important within Persona 3 Portable gameplay. By giving gifts, players will grow closer to their teammates, which opens the door for the friendship and romance features.Players can also reap benefits in terms of better Persona and other gameplay bonuses, making it a useful tool even for those who aren't so interested in gameplay that doesn't revolve around combat.

One character that players can grow closer to through the gifting mechanic is Ken Amada, the youngest member of SEES with a particularly tragic backstory. Ken represents the Justice Arcana in Persona 3 Portable, and is a Social Link players should take advantage of.

Gift Giving In Persona 3 Portable

The gift-giving feature in Persona 3 Portable works much the same as it does in any other Persona title, so for existing fans of the franchise, it should be fairly obvious. Thankfully, it's quite natural for new players, too. To put it simply, gifts are given while on dates.

That being said, there are notes that both new players and old players should take into account when planning their gifts and Social Links. One difference is that gifts can only be given to other characters on Sunday, and players can only give gifts if the other character has initiated the date. If the player is the one to ask a character to go on an outing, a gift can't be given.

The biggest difference that players need to take into account is the difference between protagonists, as the male protagonist is a bit more limited. While the female protagonist has the ability to give gifts to characters of either gender, male protagonists can only gift female companions. Similarly, while the female protagonist can access cooking and sewing classes to make her own gifts, the male protagonist cannot, and will have to source his gifts elsewhere.

The Best Gifts For KenKen Amada in Persona 3

Every character in Persona 3 Portable has different tastes when it comes to gifts that will reflect upon their personality and backstory. While Ken is a very mature kid in most other aspects, it can be argued that his gifts are the one thing that really reflects him being so young. In particular, Ken is especially fond of items like dolls, toys, handmade goods, and sweet treats. Anything along these lines will be sure to get the player in Ken's good books.
