Earlier this week, the Pentagon released three videos documenting the Navy's encounter with Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFO's. Until now, these videos were classified due to fear that they might show "sensitive capabilities or systems," but now the videos are free and available to watch by the public.

These encounters occurred in 2004 and 2015, but were leaked to the public originally in 2007 and 2017. The Department of Defense claims to have released the videos in order to clear up confusion about the situation, painting a clearer picture for those that were uncertain of what was going on at the time.

Of course, the Department of Defense deftly avoids using the term UFO, rather referring to the anomaly as an unidentified aerial phenomena, but does state that the aerial phenomena is still marked unidentified. Naturally many believe this to be an alien sighting, but there is nothing to confirm or deny those suspicions.

Alien or not, it is good that this information is out in the public's hands now, even if it did take years before that happened. The videos in question can be seen in the tweet above, as well as ABC News' description of the event.
