Bane is rumored to make his live-action debut in the current DC universe timeline in the upcoming Peacemaker HBO Max series. The Suicide Squad writer/director James Gunn will return for the Peacemaker limited series in the same roles.

Peacemaker made his live-action debut in The Suicide Squad film and was played by John Cena. Peacemaker, for those that don't know, is an anti-hero/villain who strives for peace no matter the cost or how many people he has to kill. Peacemaker is obviously a flawed character in that regard, as he'll strive to "keep the peace" even if that means doing the wrong thing and doesn't take into consideration people's happiness.

Movie Scope reports that Bane will make his debut during Peacemaker, though what this means for future live-action DC properties is unknown. This was from the same source that reported the rumor of Wanda Maximoff facing off against an X-Men character in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. Again, take this all with a grain of salt, but if Bane were to debut it would be a compelling fight for Peacemaker. Bane might be the first character fans see who can actually give Peacemaker a run for his money, but only time will tell since Cena's anti-hero doesn't have any superpowers or superstrength. His strength may be equivalent to Batman's, which might be in his favor because Batman is one of few human-level fighters capable of besting Bane in combat.

As far as the show goes, DC would've done better by picking another character for their own spin-off television show because Peacemaker wasn't the most compelling character in The Suicide Squad movie. Many fans loved King Shark's role in the film because he brought both humor and brute force during many of the fight scenes. Harley Quinn is another pick for a potential show, but ideally, either Will Smith's Deadshot (who last appeared in the 2016 film) or Idris Elba's Bloodsport would've been a good choice for a spin-off.

Both characters had conflicting moralities as well as the familial drama that would've made for a compelling series. Not to mention, Viola Davis' performance as Amanda Waller would warrant a show that follows her character more closely. Either way here's to hoping that we see better content from this side of the comic books from here on out.

Peacemaker is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max in January 2022.
