Crafting might seem like a minor detail in RPGs that already have a million things for players to do, which is why some players skip the process entirely. This is how some players get characters in MMOs at max level, with level one cooking skills. In the world of tabletop RPGs, however, the Dungeon Master sees to it that rest and food are essential parts of the daily grind.

Video games based on RPGs have that same feature, and in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, crafting is an important part of organizing the party's journey. Give the party extra buffs by cooking them a special meal before they rest, or assign a party member with the required skills to brew potions or craft spell scrolls to gain an edge in the next battle. In order to do all these things, however, certain ingredients need to be available in the common stash.

8 Diamond Dust

Most of the ingredients in the game are for potions or cooking, but there are a few that act as regents for certain important spells. Diamond Dust is an essential component for one of the most important spells in the game, Restoration.

Demons and the undead, who make up the majority of the enemies in this game, have the ability to drain levels from the characters. This pesky and permanent condition can only be cured with a Restoration spell. Usually, healing classes like Oracles and Paladins have Restoration in their spellbook, but almost any class can use it by reading it from a scroll — provided there's Diamond Dust available. Make sure the party carries this material with them.

7 Tail Sting

Tail Sting is an early and abundant item, as long as the protagonist is the type that picks up almost everything they find in the first few levels. Not only is it available as loot from chests or bags, but it's held by some vendors who also sell scrolls, Scroll Scrober's Kits, or Alchemy Kits.

It's a minor reagent that's neither rare nor expensive. However, since it's widely used in making scrolls and potions, it's best to try to gather as much as possible.

6 Tainted Fowl

It doesn't sound appetizing, but when traveling on the road, an adventurer has to make the best of what they can find. Tainted Fowl is an essential ingredient in several of the first few recipes the protagonist comes across, so it's important to have it in the inventory when exploring Kenabras.

The party won't be able to cook delectable treats like Seasoned Wings and Thighs, Spicy Pasty, or Onion Soup without this ingredient. After all, a recipe is greater than the sum of its parts.

5 Purifying Solution

No matter how many provisions or resources the protagonist and their adventuring party has, it's worthless without ample Purifying Solution. There always should be some in the party's inventory, and the reason why is related to the overall immersion factor.

The land of Golarian has been tainted by the Worldwound, a demonic mark that cuts through the whole region. Any of the food that comes from this land is also tainted, hence the unappetizing poultry that's found in many early recipes. Without something to purify the food, the party can't cook anything, no matter what other ingredients there are. If the party meets a vendor that has some Purifying Sonlution, it would be wise to grab a few extra flasks even if the party already has a supply.

4 Magic Essence

This is one of the elusive items that the Storyteller needs to revive the broken items that are scattered across Golarion. While he needs some important ingredients more than others, the recipes vary except for the Magic Essence, which is needed for every single repair job.

Some of the recipes call for Magic Essence and nothing else, making it even more important. This ingredient can be looted from chests or bags and sometimes drops from high-level enemies.

3 Demon Blood

Demon Blood is another component that the Storyteller will require to fix the mysterious artifacts the party finds scattered throughout the countryside. Not to be confused with the Demonic Heart, Demon Blood is rarer, often only to be found in designated places and dropping from high-level enemies and bosses.

Some of the Storyteller's earlier recipes will only require a few ingredients, with Magic Essence being the most common. After the protagonist takes Drezen, however, Demon Blood is required for almost every item.

2 Cold Iron

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous Finnean

There are a lot of weapons in Pathfinder: WotR that are made of cold iron and have an enhancement bonus because of it. The party finds bars of cold iron as they liberate cities and forts between Kenebras and Drezen.

Cold Iron is another of the materials the Storyteller needs to restore anything the party finds that could be utilized as equipment, even jewelry. Mining isn't a profession in Pathfinder: WotR yet, so the only way to obtain Cold Iron bars is to loot them from chests, crates, bags, or weapon racks.

1 Demonic Heart

Pathfinder Wrath of the righteous demon

Demonic Heart not as widely used as Magic Essence and it's not as difficult to find, but it's still an essential material for players to gather. It occasionally drops from the many demons that fall in the party's wake. It's also easy to find in bags, barrels, or chests during random encounters or in settlements.

Character progression means more high-level potions and scrolls, which means that the player needs higher-level items in order to make them. The Demonic Heart is one example, as it shows up in several such recipes.
