RPGs, whether in tabletop or video form, always offer players as many different options as possible when it comes to their character build. Every unique creation in a role-playing game has an ideal armor set, and the crowning glory of this ensemble is the helm. This tends to be a bit more dramatic when it comes to heavy armor classes, but casters and DPS classes can also show off some impressive headgear.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an RPG game with its roots in the complex and vast body of lore that make up the corresponding table-top universe. There's a myriad of gear available in the game, including headpieces for every class and subclass imaginable. Some of the following equipment is also available in the same module that DMs use to create live role-playing sessions.

10 Hat of Heartening Song

Featured-Pathfinder-Wrath-of-the-Righteous-Trickster

This snappy chapeau is intended for Bards since it modifies the Song ability to grant healing powers on top of any other magical effects. However, other classes and subclasses can wear this hat even if they don't have the Song skill.

When the wearer of this hat uses any Song, this hat grants the passive ability of fast healing at level 1, 2, and level 5, and then increasing by 1 point every 4 levels. Find it at the Houndheart Campsite, which is connected to the "League of the Inspiring Cart" questline.

9 Goggles of Malocchio

Dungeons And Dragons Artificer Artillerist

Arsinoe, the vendor who stands in front of the Temple in Drezen, can sell the player this item. Most of what she sells is exclusive to potions and scrolls, but she has some miscellaneous odds and ends and this is one of them. The Goggles of Malocchio are easier to find than most, but that doesn't make acquiring it any easier, coming at a high price of 34 000 gold.

The buffs are generous, adding a +10 competence bonus to Perception checks, and any creature they critically hit becomes disoriented for the next one to four rounds and suffers a -4 on a variety of abilities, including attack rolls and Initiative checks. It's up to the player whether or not it's worth the investment.

8 Draven's Hat

Pathfinder-Wrath-of-the-Righteous-Camellia-Builds

The classic witch hat, Draven's Hat is also a nice helm for a spellcaster provided they are not of a Good alignment, since this hat can only be worn by Evil or Neutral characters. It gives the wearer a +2 bonus to their intelligence score, and whenever they cast a Slow or Haste spell, their casting time is quickened as if they had the Quicken Spell feat.

7 Circlet of Ghostly Pathways

This is one of the items that the artificers of the Crusade can reconstruct from certain materials if the protagonist can rescue them from the demons and deliver them back to Drezen. The Decree, called The Fate of the Stone of Ghostly Pathways, is a reconstruction project that will require supplies, money, and a certain amount of time.

Upon completion, the player can choose between a circlet, a ring, or a sai, but it doesn't have any perks at this step of creation. After unlocking Enchanting via another Decree, plays can choose between different perks.

  • Ancestral Retribution: gives the wearer +2 enhancement bonus to Wisdom, and any summoned elementals have 50 additional hit points.
  • Planar Navigation: a +2 enhancement bonus to Charisma, a +1 AC bonus against extra-planar creatures, and gives the wearer the ability to dominate outsiders three times a day.
  • Clemency of Shadows: grants a +2 enhancement bonus to Intelligence. Each time the wearer casts a spell, the target must pass a Reflex saving throw or be entangled in a web that deals 1d6+3 bludgeoning damage each round for one to four rounds.

6 Headband of Inspired Wisdom

There are several ranks of this helm, starting at a +1 bonus to Wisdom and ranking all the way up to +6. Several classes rely on Wisdom for their spellcasting ability it is also an essential skill for Perception checks.

The Headband of Inspired Wisdom, and its many variations, can be looted from chests or corpses, purchased from a variety of vendors, or awarded as part of a completed quest. It's an easy helm to find and not exactly the most sophisticated, but still a nice boost to the party in earlier levels.

5 Phylactery of Negative Channeling

Lich in Pathfinder

There's a positive version of this helm too, but this comes in handy if there's a Dhampir in the party or some kind of regenerating enemy that just won't die. Wearing this headband gives the player the ability to Channel Negative Energy, which heals undead creatures like the Dhampir for up to 2d6 and increases the damage done to any living creatures.

Not every player will find this helm. It drops from one of the Golden Golems that the player has to fight during the Battle of Drezen. The phylactery doesn't drop the protagonist chooses to deactivate the golems instead of fighting them.

4 Battle Mage's Headband

pathfinder-2e-rpg dawf/gnome fighter and mage

This is another item that's easy to find but difficult to acquire unless you have the funds. Arsinoe has several handy accessories for casters and the Battle Mage's headband is in her stock with those fashionable but upscale goggles.

The headband grants a +2 to Wisdom and a +2 enhancement bonus to Charisma along with a handy attack bonus. Whenever the wearer of this headband lands a killing blow with a melee weapon, their next spell becomes enhanced by the Empower Spell feat. This is an ideal helm for a character that uses both spells and melee weapons.

3 Headband of Vast Intelligence

Pathfinder Elves and Half Elves

The Headband of Vast Intelligence is the mage's version of the Headband of Inspired Wisdom. It also comes in several varieties, ranging from +1 +6, and is found in the same variety of places. Vendors that have mage-related goods often sell them, and vendors in random encounters or innkeepers can allow carry them in stock. It can be looted from chests, sacks, or fallen enemies, and gives a nice buff to a character even at a lower level.

2 Crushing Presence

pathfinder wizards split image 3 casters

The name makes it sound like a heavy, shiny helm for a Paladin or Cleric. It certainly could be worn by someone who wields a bludgeoning weapon, since the name is a reference to the extra ability granted by this item, but it might be more advantageous to give it to a small or weak party member.

With a bonus +6 to Charisma, the wearer has a "crushing presence" already, and there's also an additional combat ability that can be used three times a day. It grants the wearer an ability to push all of the enemies in a 15 feet area 10 feet away and cause them 1d8 bludgeoning damage, with additional damage granted for every caster level.

1 Bookworm’s Headband

Pathfinder Party of Elves

This helm is accessible early in the game from a vendor named Kyado in Defender's Heart. He also sells Alchemy and Scroll Scribing Kits, which are essential to make potions and scrolls while the party is resting, so take a moment to browse his wares.

The Bookworm's Headband gives the wearer a +2 enhancement bonus to their Intelligence ability score and immunity to all compulsion effects, like Fear or Laughter. The downside is that it also inflicts a -2 penalty to Charisma and a -3 penalty on all Persuasion checks, so maybe give it to someone who isn't all that likable in the first place.
