Path of Exile has grown over the years with the introduction of updates known as Leagues, and this weekend continued with the PC launch of its next one, Heist. Inspired by heist movies like Ocean’s Eleven, this batch of content from Grinding Gear Games lets players form a crew of thieves and break into high-security locations to score rare artifacts, in addition to introducing rewards, items, and mechanical improvements.

However, for a growing number of players, the new update hasn’t been working as intended. Prior to its launch yesterday, players had the option to pre-download the torrent for Path of Exile’s Heist League, but reports have come in that a number of them are getting errors. Not only that, the issue has blocked players from accessing the rest of the game as well, forcing them to re-download the whole thing.

The good news is that Grinding Gear is aware of this issue and has a solution. On the official Path of Exile Twitter account, it explained that anyone dealing with the pre-download error can address it themselves. Affected players need to remove the torrent file marked “Content.ggpk,” run the game, let it download the latest patch, and then restart. From there, they can complete the process by pausing the game once it starts checking resources and putting the .ggpk file back in.

Depending on one’s technical know-how and download speeds, this might not be the most practical option for everyone trying to get around the issue. Luckily, Grinding Gear says it is investigating Heist's download problem and will provide updates as soon as it can. With any luck, this means it will be able to resolve the issue before long.

Path of Exile is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
