It's generally accepted that one way to make something cooler is to just add dinosaurs. That’s especially true in video games, where anything from survival horror to high school games can be spiced up with dinosaurs. Such is the case with Parkasaurus, a tycoon-style game that will be launching in full very soon.

Developed by Washbear Studio, the park-building sim has been available on Steam Early Access since 2018, where it’s been well-received by those who’ve played it. The general consensus seems to be that the game riffs on Zoo Tycoon in a satisfying way, resulting in one of the most relaxing games fans can play on their computers.

They will soon have more to look forward to, as Parkasaurus will be exiting Early Access and getting a proper 1.0 launch on August 13. This launch, Washbear says, will come with plenty of new content, “including more dinos, a full campaign, new modes, enhanced exhibit design features.” Additionally, the game will be discounted from its usual $25 price tag at launch.

Throughout the years, a handful of games have sought to let players live out their Jurassic Park fantasies and run their very own dinosaur theme park. Parkasaurus offers them just that, and with enough varied content that they’re free to play how they want. While the campaign will challenge them to tend to the needs of their parks like proper managers, custom game options will also allow them to ignore that and focus on building the park of their dreams, free of restrictions.

Parkasaurus is available for PC, and will be leaving Steam Early Access on August 13.
