Fans of the PlayStation 1 styled horror game Paratopic will soon be able to play it on the Nintendo Switch later this month. This award-winning game was originally released for the PC in 2018 and subjected its players to a short and surreal story with different choices that players could make each time they played.

For those who haven't played Paratopic, it's a short horror game focusing on different protagonists in different parts of their own stories while players are left with trying to understand what exactly is going on in the world around them. There is no saving, so players must complete the game within a single play session. However, the game lasts roughly from half and hour to an hour, allowing for multiple playthroughs in one day.

One of the biggest appeals is Paratopic's PS1 styled graphics. This helps enhance the surreal atmosphere that players will find themselves in as they go through Paratopic's story.

Despite the low resolution graphics, Paratopic isn't an experience for the faint at heart due to the heavy amounts of body horror and disturbing imagery. It is a true horror experience that players shouldn't have low expectations for.

Aside from the trailer, those who want to experience Paratopic and what it offers should venture into the game completely blind. There are many theories online about the events of the game, but it is best for players to experience the title for themselves and draw their own conclusions before seeing what others think.

Paratopic is available now on PC and will be available for the Nintendo Switch on August 21, 2020.
