Steam virtual reality users have been able to get their hands on Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul through early access for awhile now, but soon PlayStation VR owners will also have a chance to check out the VR horror game. As announced by game developer VRWERX, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul will be available on August 15th.

Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul is an original story in the Paranormal Activity franchise, not an adaption of any particular film. In the game, players are tasked with exploring a creepy house in the woods, where they are subjected to a variety of supernatural horrors. While not a terribly original premise, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul has still managed to garner some attention during its time in early access, and improvements coming to the full game could put it over the top as one of 2017’s premiere horror titles.

And if not, perhaps the post-launch support will help Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul reach its full potential. While no specifics were offered, VRWERX plans on supporting Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul with content updates after the game becomes available on August 15th.

Paranormal Activity VR Game Gets Release Date - Living room

Post-launch support or not, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul seems like a game that should be on the radar for PlayStation VR owners. After all, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul has long been one of the most promising VR horror games in development, as the general premise behind the Paranormal Activity series simply seems to lend itself well to virtual reality hardware.

In fact, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul isn’t even the first time the franchise has come to VR. As some may recall, the original incarnation of the Paranormal Activity VR experience was attached to select AMC showings of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension as a promotional tactic.

It’s possible that elements of that original Paranormal Activity VR experience will be seen in Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul, but that’s just speculation at this time. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see if there are any connections between this game and the AMC theater originals

Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul will be available on August 15th for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR.
