In Paper Mario: The Origami King, there are several hidden treasures and fun secrets to find among the paper worlds. However, while discovering Paper Mario Easter eggs is fun, players never want to find a game-breaking bug, but a new one has recently been discovered.

Most players will want to avoid all the bugs in Paper Mario: The Origami King to make sure that their experience is as fun as possible. While some of the bugs, like the Autumn Mountain skip, can actually progress the story along faster, some glitches can softlock the game, while some even corrupt a player's game file and force them to start over. The newest bug, which will softlock the Switch, only occurs during a very specific fight, and only during the Battle Lab version of it.

While Nintendo is already working to fix known Paper Mario glitches, a new one has just been discovered. Players have found that in phase two of the battle between Mario and Boss Sumo Bro in the Battle Lab, players can softlock their Paper Mario: The Origami King game. All they have to do is use a POW block during this part of the battle, and the game will freeze, leaving players unable to continue.

Thankfully, this glitch can easily be avoided by just not using POW blocks during the battle. This glitch was discovered during the Boss Sumo battle, and only when a player uses the Battle Lab to battle him. While the Battle Lab is important to players looking to 100% complete Paper Mario: The Origami King, it's not necessary to beat the game and can easily be avoided. Also, the boss can be beaten fairly easily without POW blocks at all.

While not as bad as the Stuck Pillar glitch in the Sea Tower, which can corrupt a player's saved game file, softlocking a game is not a fun experience for anyone. But these glitches are still some of the major fixes that Paper Mario: The Origami King needs. There aren't too many bugs, but most of them badly need fixes.

There's still a lot of fun to be had with the newest Paper Mario game. There are a massive number of collectibles, inappropriate Origami King Easter eggs, and plenty of gameplay without bugs to keep fans enthralled. Hopefully, there will be patches for the worst of the bugs soon, and players will be able to play Paper Mario: The Origami King without worrying about the glitches.
