Netflix has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming final season of its sensational original series Ozark, and it's packed with an adrenaline rush of excitement that's sure to get fans enthusiastic about its impending release. This new season of Ozark looks to offer the same level of thrill while turning up the dial of intensity for a truly explosive finish.

The new pieces of footage offered from the Netflix trailer showcase Ruth Langmore joining a meeting with Marty and Wendy Byrde alongside her new business partner Darlene Snell. This curious connection sets up a stirring situation, seeing how Darlene is interested in restarting her heroin business with Ruth now at her side. However, simultaneously in the backdrop lies the vicious Navarro cartel, aware of Snell's plan to reignite her business and issuing a warning that places the Byrde's deep within the middle of the incoming chaos. Additionally, the Ozark season 4 footage reveals cartel head honcho Omar Navarro, who offers a proposition that would free the Byrdes from his grasp, but what will it take to see this desired outcome appear into view?

"Your greatest threat will always come from the inside, Marty, never forget that," are the words uttered by Omar Navarro, hinting at the fact that while danger lurks around them, the absolute horror lingers within places they wouldn't expect. Navarro's words a juxtaposed with images of Jonah Byrde, Marty and Wendy's son, who many believe will play an integral part in the upcoming final season. His presence within the Netflix trailer was unmistakable, helping to launder money with Ruth, which draws delight and trepidation equally from his parents. Assisting Ruth, however, seems to be going against the plan Marty and Wendy have orchestrated, thus creating an issue firmly within the home. Will Jonah be the plague that roots the family from within their supposed bubble of comfort? It's unclear, but the trailer hints that something evil is afoot.

How things will turn out for the Byrde family is a mystery, but it looks as if the path to freedom and absolution won't be easy to navigate. The tagline for the upcoming final season of Ozark reads, "No one gets out clean," but who could this statement be referring to within the narrative? Marty and Wendy both have their fair share of skeletons in the closet, stained with the blood of past sins, but their deeds at not a complicated riddle. Will their path head down an even darker road, or will others become infected by the error of their ways? The Netflix trailer hints that Jonah may be the Trojan Horse of destruction, but the audience will have to wait for the narrative to play itself out.

The final season of Ozark will include 14 episodes, split in half, with both parts releasing on differing dates. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney will return to reprise their roles as Marty and Wendy Byrde, followed by Julia Garner, Felix Solis, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Jessica Frances Dukes, and Lisa Emery.

Ozark season 4: part 1 will premiere on Netflix on January 21, 2022.
