Overwatch’s Workshop mode has allowed fans to create a good variety of modes and content, with tweaks to heroes being some of the most entertaining ideas. While Blizzard itself has done silly things with character animations, like making Zenyatta walk, it recently tasked the Overwatch community with making some of their own.

Fans made the dev team’s wishes come true almost immediately. While Blizzard works on tweaking Ashe’s shotgun, it took the time to post a video on September 7th asking fans for certain workshop mashups. Principal Animator Jesse Davis shared his wishes for a flying version of B.O.B., and a day later, a mode was created by a player that features none other than a flying version of Ashe’s sidekick.

EloHellWorkshop shared a video of the fan creation with the official Overwatch Twitter account, and it is certainly a sight worth seeing. B.O.B. is indeed in the skies of Eichenwalde during the footage, shooting down at various enemies on the map. Unlike the normal version activated through and Ultimate ability, this version of the robotic butler can move forward, albeit slowly. While a moving, flying B.O.B. is not as terrifying as a certain fan-made Overwatch horror mode, he would be a nightmare to deal with in competitive play.

Character artist Dylan Jones also had a flight request, this time for the lovable moving turret Bastion. It too was created by fans and can be seen in action during the video above. The mode can be found by regular players in the Overwatch Workshop, too, using the code "A2BTM". There was one other overpowered request, this time from Associate Engineer Jessie Yang. The result is a surprisingly formidable opponent that would make a good fit in the fan-made Overwatch fighting game.

Yang asked if fans could make D.Va blink like Tracer when outside her mech, citing their shared 150 HP as the reasoning behind the decision. Sure enough, fans delivered, and EloHellWorkshop showed the result. Baby D.Va speeds around Hanamura with unlimited blinks, teleporting around with her gun in-hand. While it would certainly be overpowered in actual competitive play, a temporary addition of the mechanic could help players tolerate the odd new D.Va bug where she is separated from her mech on respawns.

While the Blizzard team is hard at work on Overwatch 2 and nerfing tank hero Roadhog, it is nice to see them take a moment to relax and interact with the community a bit. The fan interactions around Overwatch have always been wholesome, and these newest workshop modes have proved to be no different.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
